<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>12 Hour Evening Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Position Purpose</p> <p>At Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Main PACU provides post-operative care for patients recovering from complex surgeries performed in the Main OR of a Level 1 Trauma Center.</p> <p>What You Will Do</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and other critical surgeries.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, stabilization, and transfer readiness.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and care teams to deliver advanced interventions and uphold perioperative standards.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate's degree in Nursing required</p> </li><li> <p>Valid RN license in Connecticut</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in Nursing</p> </li><li> <p>The ideal candidate will have one or more years of PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery</p> </li><li> <p>Candidates with Emergency Room or ICU nurses with 2+ years of experience may be considered if they demonstrate expertise in ICU-level ventilated patient care, critical drips (e.g., vasopressors, sedatives), and strong assessment skills. Note: Training is not available for candidates without this expertise</p> </li><li> <p>BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)</p> </li><li> <p>ACLS and TNCC certification (support available post-hire)</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in ASPAN standards and guidelines</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Highlights and Benefits</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-Time - 36 hours/week - Evening Shift</p> </li><li> <p>Three 12-hour shifts, every 3rd weekend</p> </li><li> <p>Variable start times: 9:00 am, 10:00 am, or 11:00 am</p> </li><li> <p>On-call requirements are based on unit needs.
