<p>Job Description</p> <p>$10,000 Sign-On Bonus for eligible full-time and part-time new employees joining UW Medicine</p> <p>UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our new Oncology unit.</p> <p>DEPARTMENT INFORMATION:</p> <p>4A is an oncology unit serving hematology-oncology and medical-oncology patients. Common diagnoses include lymphoma, sarcoma, and a variety of solid-tumor cancers. This unit specializes in chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, management of treatment-related side effects, end-of-life care, and care of cancer-related complications such as pain, immunosuppression, electrolyte imbalances, and organ dysfunction. Specialized equipment includes chemotherapy administration supplies and a carbon-filtered chemotherapy spill PAPR. This unit is also a resource for central venous access device care and maintenance.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE:</p> <ul> <li>36 hours per week (12-hour shifts) </li><li>Variable shifts </li></ul> <p>PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Screen patients for Oncology treatment </li><li>Place IVs, and initiate, assess and observe patients during infusions </li><li>Provide procedural support </li><li>Document all activities in the Electronic Medical Record </li><li>Provide care management education for patients and their families </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>One year of current or recent Oncology nursing experience </li><li>ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred </li><li>Active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State </li><li>Active BLS Certification </li></ul> <p>ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST</p> <p>UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
