We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Research Assistant Position, Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging</p> <p>PROJECTED START DATE: Summer 2025</p> <p>We are seeking a full time Research Technician to assist with all aspects of our cognitive neuroscience and psycholinguistic research. Our lab is interested in where and when the brain is activated during language processing. For more information about what we do, see: http://www.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/kuperberglab/. The responsibilities of this position are varied and involve the coordination of all aspects of research projects, including collecting and analyzing neuroimaging (fMRI, MEG, ERP) data, statistical analysis, scientific manuscript writing, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the lab.</p> <p>In addition to the intellectual reward, the position would give the holder experience of research in cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, psycholinguistics, clinical applications, as well as database and program management. This is an ideal research opportunity for someone bound for graduate school in cognitive neuroscience, cognitive science, psycholinguistics or cognitive psychology. Our lab has sites at both Tufts University (Medford, MA) and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Charlestown, MA), both of which are easily accessible from Boston, MA.</p> <p>Please include the following in your application, and upload as a single document:</p> <p>(1) A cover letter explaining why you are interested in this position, specific research and administrative experience, detailing how your skills match the job description, as well as describing your aims for the future.</p> <p>(2) A CV that includes related courses you have taken, as well as a description of your research experience.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Responsibilities will include working with individuals from a multidisciplinary team to collect fMRI, ERP and MEG data in healthy adult volunteers and to work on pre-processing and analysis of large language data sets using computational modeling.</p> <p>Sets up, prepares, and runs routine neuroimaging and behavioral experiments as directed. This includes:</p> <ul> <li>Interaction with human participants </li><li>Preparing and maintaining lab instruments and equipment </li><li>Documenting experimental procedures and following them </li><li>Management and organization of experimental data on research servers </li></ul> <p>The candidate must work well with others to preprocess and analyze neuroimaging data and trouble-shooting any computer code relating to data presentation and analysis. Specifically:</p> <ul> <li>Carry out analyses of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and/or magentoencephalography (MEG) data, under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, postdocs, and graduate students in the lab. </li><li>Use bash scripting and python to process large data sets, and be able to modify this code as needed for different types of analyses </li><li>Run statistical analyses on neuroimaging data sets using software such as SPM8 and MNEpython. </li><li>Create visualizations of neuroimaging data </li><li>Clean and input data into Large Language Models </li></ul> <p>May perform independent literature searches.</p> <p>Maintains laboratory documentation on the lab wiki and perform other lab administrative tasks, e.g. organizing lab meetings, documenting changes and updates to data processing streams, purchasing lab supplies, maintaining IRB protocols</p> <p>Assists with organizing materials for publication or presentation.
