We're dedicated to empowering our staff through professional development, tuition reimbursement, and career pathways that support your advancement-whether you're new to the field or seeking a meaningful career change.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Assistant Teacher Sub works 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM/4:00PM. You will support Special Education Teachers in the classroom by instructing students and providing direct support. You'll assist with behavior management during lessons, track students' progress, and set up classroom materials as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>At least 18 years of age </li><li>Valid driver's license </li><li>Eligible for a Public Service license with a "V" endorsement (required for operation of student transportation vehicles), facilitated through Oak Hill during initial employment period. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Generous paid vacation, sick, and personal time, plus paid holidays </li><li>Affordable medical, dental, and vision benefits (Oak Hill funds up to 50% of your medical deductible in an HSA) </li><li>403(b) retirement plan (Oak Hill contributes 9.5% at no cost to you) </li><li>Free and low-cost life insurance options and free long-term disability insurance </li><li>Excellent professional development opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and career pathways </li><li>Staff recognition and appreciation programs </li><li>Paid training, education, and certification as necessary (including CPR training) </li><li>Union position: $18.50 per hour </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of the Special Education Teacher:</p> <ul> <li>Assist students in achieving social and academic development </li><li>Reinforce lessons by reviewing material one-on-one and in small groups with students </li><li>Foster student engagement and maintain a supportive learning environment </li><li>Model appropriate behaviors to assist students in developing social skills </li><li>Encourage student independence and implement prescribed behavioral management plans </li><li>Assist students in learning self-care techniques, including toileting, personal hygiene, eating, dressing, and other personal care tasks </li><li>Support teachers with ongoing observation and documentation </li><li>Help maintain records for student progress and program development </li><li>Prepare materials and equipment for class </li><li>Supervise students during lunch, breaks, between classes, and on field trips </li><li>Transport students on field trips and provide additional help to students learning specific concepts </li></ul> <p>Oak Hill is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>We support equality and advancement of all people based on their qualifications and actions alone,</p> <p>without regard to color, gender, age, religion, national origin, or disability.</p>
