<p>POSITION TITLE: 2025-26 Athletics Youth Strength Coordinator/Coach</p> <p>IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Youth Sports and Community Programs</p> <p>SALARY: $960.00 ea.</p> <p>M-F 8-5PM (hours may vary)</p> <ul> <li>THIS IS A PART-TIME, SUMMER SCHOOL POSITION OPERATING ONLY DURING SBCSC SUMMER SCHOOL DATES </li></ul> <p>GENERAL SUMMARY:</p> <p>The role involves overseeing a dynamic athletics, fitness program designed to foster growth for beginners weight training students. The successful candidate will create opportunities for a broad range of students to acquire and enhance the skills required to excel as student-athletes in a competitive environment. Continual success will be pursued by aligning with the district's missions and goals. This includes maintaining regular communication and coordination with teachers, parents, athletes, support personnel, and administrative staff.</p> <p>DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for helping organize activities directed at increasing knowledge of overall fitness including flexibility, explosive moment, strength and endurance. </li><li>Secure any additional help to implement scheduled, on-site activities in partnership with district athletics. </li><li>Partner with and build relationships with high school athletic leadership and coaches in your neighborhood/partner schools. </li><li>Communicate use of the facilities and all maintenance issues with the engineering staff as well as the corporation Buildings & Grounds department to ensure safe, quality playing conditions. </li><li>Recruit assistance when necessary. </li><li>Help manage the athletic site and infrastructure, specifically the weight room, during the school year. </li><li>Run parent meetings if necessary for all sports and communicate on a regular basis with parents about changes or concerns. </li><li>Help recruit and encourage participation. </li><li>Help distribute and manage any paperwork for communicating, organizing and reporting. </li><li>Must work with a variety of individuals and stakeholders in order to maintain and improve the programs. </li><li>Understand and apply SBCSC Code of Conduct for students participating in sport and athletic activities. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Certification in fitness including personal training. </li><li>Coaching experience (preferred) </li><li>CPR/First Aid Certified and AED Trained (preferred) </li><li>Must have reliable transportation </li><li>Excellent computer skills </li><li>Effective leadership and oral/written communication skills </li><li>Must be able to work independently and be a self-starter </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <ul> <li>Must hold a valid drivers' license and a vehicle in good working condition. </li><li>Ability to lift 40 lbs., stoop, bend and stand for long periods of time on a hard surface. </li><li>Must be patient with children, which can be difficult sometimes. </li><li>Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat and work in a confined area. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and/or walking. </li><li>Routinely requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects and equipment. </li><li>Must work indoors and outdoors regardless of the weather </li><li>Must work long and sometimes irregular hours </li></ul> <p>Works in standard office and school building environments. Must be able to handle stress. Must work regularly scheduled hours.</p>
