<p>The Position</p> <p>Arrowhead is seeking a scientist/senior scientist to join our Discovery Chemistry group. The candidate will be a key member of drug discovery teams and may have opportunity to lead drug discovery programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design and synthesize novel compounds for biological testing, and/or develop conditions for the preparation and isolation/purification of novel investigational compounds. </li><li>Characterization and identification of compounds using modern analytical methods including HPLC, LCMS and NMR. </li><li>Present research findings to project teams and governance bodies and prepare technical reports </li><li>Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab </li><li>Leads scientific projects </li><li>Determines and executes research scope, strategies and timelines for project delivery </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>PhD in synthetic organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry with 0-8 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry </li><li>Advanced chemistry/biochemistry/biotechnology knowledge with proven track of records of scientific contributions (papers, patents) </li><li>Hands on experience in independently planning and executing synthesis of complex organic molecules </li><li>Ability to grow and independently deepen scientific knowledge </li><li>Comfortable working on complex assignments and new areas of work </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with macromolecules or drug delivery </li></ul>
