<p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Sales Representative is responsible for marketing, selling, and providing technical assistance for aggregate products along the front range of Colorado and Wyoming. This role focuses on developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, driving profitable revenue growth, and expanding market share through both new business development and existing account management.</p> <p>Reporting to the District Sales Manager, the Sales Representative partners closely with Operations, Quality Control, Dispatch, and Logistics to ensure customers receive the right products, on time, and to specification. The role also involves proactive identification of upcoming project opportunities, competitive analysis, and preparation of bids, forecasts, and business plans to support regional growth objectives.</p> <p>Key Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Market and sell aggregates within the assigned region to achieve established sales and margin goals. </li><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, producers, and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. </li><li>Proactively target and acquire new customers through prospecting, networking, and industry bidding platforms. </li><li>Review bid documents, specifications, and project requirements; prepare and submit accurate bid packages, quotes, proposals and quote follow-up. </li><li>Maintain and update sales activity records, project bid logs, and forecasts (monthly and yearly) with accurate volume, pricing, and pipeline information. </li><li>Evaluate market trends, competitor pricing, and project pipelines to identify new business opportunities and strategic growth areas. </li><li>Collaborate with Operations, Quality Control, and Dispatch teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of aggregates to meet customer requirements. </li><li>Work with customers and the Credit Department to ensure accounts receivable are well-managed and in compliance with company standards. </li><li>Conduct regular customer site visits to monitor ongoing projects, assess needs, and provide recommendations on materials and applications. </li><li>Represent Martin Marietta professionally at industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to strengthen brand presence and industry relationships. </li><li>Participate in business-line budgeting, planning, and forecasting activities to align territory goals with divisional objectives. </li><li>Ensure all sales and service activities adhere to company policies, safety standards, and ethical business practices. </li><li>Provide regular updates to management on sales performance, backlog, pricing trends, customer activity, and competitive landscape. </li><li>Serve as a trusted liaison between customers and internal departments, facilitating prompt issue resolution and long-term relationship management. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>2 - 4 years of sales experience, preferably within the aggregates, ready mix, or construction materials industries. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge of aggregate products, production processes, applications, and quality standards. </li><li>Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. </li><li>Proven ability to analyze market trends, project data, and pricing strategies to drive business decisions. </li><li>Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and bidding or estimating platforms. </li><li>Strong business acumen, problem-solving, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. </li><li>Strong time management and attention to detail in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. </li></ul> <p>The Sales Representative is responsible for developing strong customer relationships and selling ready mix concrete products and services. As a customer-facing position, the sales representative will work to provide excellent customer service and will assist customers with selecting the best products for their needs. Working with the sales manager, the sales representative will evaluate existing and potential accounts, pricing strategies, and sales forecasts on a regular basis. The sales representative will also frequently communicate with operations, quality control, and dispatch personnel regarding customer needs.andnbsp; This position will be based out of the Martin Marietta corporate office in Lakewood.</p> <p>The hiring range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The hiring range for this role represents the base compensation we expect to pay for the position at time of hire and does not represent the total possible base pay of the position. In addition, this role is eligible for our annual bonus program.
