<p>The Business Office at Florida College is seeking applicants for the position of Bookstore Manager. The Bookstore Manager plans, implements, and assists in managing all the operational functions of the Florida College campus bookstore. The Bookstore Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise the daily operations and activities of assigned staff, including communications, training, and daily schedules; ensure that college and store policies, procedures and standards are followed, including handling disciplinary issues as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide input on budget estimates for the year, including:</p> </li><li> <p>analyzing store financials to determine store and department performance and develop strategies to improve sales.</p> </li><li> <p>preparing reports regularly to the administration on financial results and making recommendations to improve service, meet customer demands, and improve the financial stability of the operation.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the overall operation of the bookstore, including:</p> </li><li> <p>ensuring front end and back-office functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner; monitors cash procedures, payables and receivables;</p> </li><li> <p>resolving service issues and providing exemplary customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>preparing and implementing detailed plans for the bookstore (e.g., scheduling, budgets, floor plans, seasonal coverage).</p> </li><li> <p>being responsible for the safe storage of overstock in the warehouse area</p> </li><li> <p>leading efforts to improve the look and functionality of the bookstore website, and to improve the use of technology for bookstore operations.</p> </li><li> <p>developing inventory plans to maintain proper levels to meet customer demand while balancing space and storage limitations.</p> </li><li> <p>managing the visual presentation of the store to create a positive shopping environment for students and outside customers.</p> </li><li> <p>collaborating with team members to develop branded clothing options for students and constituents.</p> </li><li> <p>overall coordinator of textbook project each fall, spring, and summer</p> </li><li> <p>developing plans to meet the challenges of the college bookstore environment, including demands for electronic textbooks, lower priced used textbooks, and the increased use of online sources for purchasing college and religious books and materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Engage with the Florida College community, selling products in-store and online.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to administration requests for special reports, information, or for help on special projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage assigned projects such as special promotions, displays, and off-site selling events.</p> </li><li> <p>Work cooperatively with other departments to promote the college at special events.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop plans to grow in-house publishing, the FC Press.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of an associate's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field. </li><li>General understanding of accounting principles and cash handling processes. </li><li>Experience and understanding of the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, 3 years of experience. </li><li>Demonstrated customer service experience. </li><li>Experience supervising and training other staff members </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Experience with MBS point of sale software </li><li>One year of inventory management experience </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands / Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. </li><li>The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects (up to 50-60 pounds) and distinguishes between shades of color. </li></ul> <p>Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and 2 references with contact information to Matthew Dickey - Human Resources Director at Dickeym@floridacollege.edu Applications submitted by May 12, 2025 are assured full consideration.</p> <p>If you have any questions, please contact Matthew Dickey.</p> <p>Florida College is committed to maintaining a safe and secure campus environment and protecting the financial and physical assets of the institution.
