We welcome all that share those values to apply.</p> <p>Working for the Town of Castle Rock includes:</p> <ul> <li>The opportunity to make a difference in our community </li><li>Career Advancement Programs </li><li>Employee well-being program </li><li>Competitive total compensation with an excellent benefits package </li><li>Free membership to the MAC or Recreation Center </li><li>Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness eligible employer </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Submits requests and may order supplies and maintains inventory for all maintenance and repair work. </li><li>Maintains maintenance records and creates work orders through the CAFM system. </li><li>Responds to public concerns, complaints or questions regarding all aspects of area of expertise. </li><li>Inspects property, structures, facilities and for maintenance needs and safety hazards. Recommends and coordinates renovations and improvements. </li><li>Operates simple to complex equipment in the maintenance and upkeep of area of expertise. This may include bucket truck, scissor lift and snow plow truck. </li><li>Utilizes various manual, gas, and hand-held electrical tools and equipment in installation and upkeep of area of expertise. This may include saws, welders, drills, hammers, shovels, snow blowers. </li><li>Performs painting, cleaning, maintenance and repair on municipal property, structures, and facilities. Cleans/clears debris and refuse from Town property. </li><li>Performs/coordinates regular maintenance and repair on equipment used in area of expertise. </li><li>Assists contractors and provides drawings or information for construction projects. </li><li>Shares pager duty on a rotating schedule. </li><li>Responds to after-hours calls for service. </li><li>Reviews drawings for the repairs or capital improvements. </li><li>This position will assist with snow removal for Town facilities which will include light duty trucks, hand shovels and other snow removal equipment. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned or required </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.</p> <p>Education: High School Diploma or GED</p> <p>Experience: Three (3) years previous experience in building maintenance or related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience</p> <p>Licenses and/or Certifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>A valid Colorado driver's license </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of the various types of semi-skilled manual work performed in maintenance and repair of area of expertise. </li><li>Knowledge in the various types of manual, gas or electrically powered tools, equipment and machinery employed in maintenance, installation and/or repair of area of expertise. </li><li>Knowledge of potential hazards of the materials and equipment used in performing tasks. </li><li>Skill in operating machinery and equipment and utilizing tools used within area of expertise. </li><li>Ability to understand verbal information and instruction and explain information in situations which may adversarial. </li><li>Ability to read and understand written material, Ability to translate verbal communication into effective written material, e.g., reports and other documents. </li><li>Ability to use basic mathematical skills in making basic calculations. </li><li>Knowledge of construction and underground utilities. </li><li>Skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. </li><li>Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to travel to various Town facilities. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Moderate physical work to include lifting and moving objects 50 lbs or less </li><li>Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to travel to various Town facilities </li><li>Frequent performance of activities requiring a full range of body movement including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling/bending, crouching, crawling, and/or twisting </li><li>Frequent hand/eye coordination to operate tools and electrical equipment as well as for driving equipment and vehicles </li><li>Vision for reading, recording and interpreting information </li><li>Speech communication and hearing to maintain communication with employees and citizens </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Works both indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to all weather conditions </li><li>Regular exposure to dust, noise, and chemicals </li></ul> <p>Equipment Used:</p> <ul> <li>This position may require the occasional use of personal equipment (e.g. vehicle, cell phone, tools, etc.) in the course of their employment </li></ul> <p>Must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting and driving record check prior to commencing employment.</p> <p>The Town of Castle Rock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
