<p>PURPOSE: Ensure guests, tenants and team members at Mall of America have a positive experience by providing excellent service related to guest relations and safety and enforce the Parental Escort Policy (PEP).</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Enforce the MOA Parental Escort Policy and other MOA rules. </li><li>Patrol MOA common areas or remain stationed at Mall entrances, as assigned. </li><li>Verify guests are at least 16 years of age using physical copies of government issued IDs or have a parent or guardian that is at least 21 years old. </li><li>Request ID from guests who appear under 21 years of age, based on training and discretion. </li><li>Address violations of MOA rules, including asking guests to leave Mall property when necessary. </li><li>Consistently provide outstanding internal and external guest service. </li><li>Utilize radio for clear and detailed communication with Dispatch, Supervisors, and other relevant staff. </li><li>Respond to incident calls as directed by dispatcher or supervisor. </li><li>May provide first aid or CPR in life threatening situations. </li><li>Request police or EMS services as necessary. </li><li>Assist in emergency procedures including perimeters and reporting suspicious items, vehicles, and individuals when necessary. </li><li>Assist in reuniting juvenile guests with parents or guardians. </li><li>Cross train with Traffic department and assist with traffic control as assigned. </li><li>Work special events, bag checks, roof details, and crowd control details as assigned. </li><li>Work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and high-volume days. </li><li>Additional other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Successful completion of in-house physical and skills training program. </li><li>Prior CPR and First Aid training preferred and able to perform CPR on all body types. </li><li>Excellent guest service skills. </li><li>Excellent listening and written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task. </li><li>Must be observant and safety minded. </li><li>Able to remain calm in stressful situations utilizing rational thinking and decision making skills. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the officer will frequently be required to speak and listen to guests in order to understand their needs and communicate a solution. Officer must also possess a level of hearing that will continuously allow them to be aware of their surroundings and recognize when a guest or situation needs their attention. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Team members are required to be able to tolerate multiple sensory stimuli at once while performing their duties. These stimuli may include: loud auditory/noise, smells/olfactory, hot/cold temperatures. bright lights, colors, motion, and other visual and tactile stimuli.</p> <ul> <li>Walk: Infrequently, about 25% of the time </li><li>Stand: Frequently, about 75% of the time </li><li>Sit: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Bend/Stoop: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Kneel/Squat: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Lift/Carry </li><li>Less than 10lb: Continuously, about 100% of the time </li><li>11-25lb: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Twist: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Reach above shoulders: Rarely, about 5% of the time </li><li>Reach at or below shoulders: Infrequently, about 15% of the time </li><li>Reach at/below waist: Infrequently, about 15% of the time </li><li>Dexterity: Frequently, about 75% of the time </li><li>Use both hands required to perform duties </li></ul> <p>Mall of America is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to providing a workplace free from harassment or discrimination.
