<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Custodian</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Custodial Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment within North Stonington School facilities. This position performs routine custodial duties to ensure that buildings are maintained in a condition that supports a healthy and effective learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas </li><li>Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust assigned areas on a regular schedule </li><li>Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners </li><li>Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces </li><li>Restock supplies in restrooms and other designated areas </li><li>Perform seasonal or periodic deep cleaning tasks as assigned </li><li>Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms for meetings, events, and school activities </li><li>Perform lawn care and exterior maintenance duties, including mowing, trimming, and general grounds upkeep as assigned </li><li>Operate and maintain custodial and grounds equipment, including but not limited to vacuums, floor machines, and lawn care equipment </li><li>Report safety hazards, maintenance needs, or damage to appropriate personnel </li><li>Follow established cleaning and safety procedures, including proper use of chemicals and equipment </li><li>Maintain custodial and grounds equipment in proper working condition </li><li>Perform snow removal, sanding, or other seasonal exterior maintenance duties as assigned </li><li>Other related duties as assigned by supervisory or administrative personnel </li></ul> <p>Supervision Received</p> <p>Works under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities.
