<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>As a Farmstand Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a retail farmstand, overseeing sales, staff, customer service, and inventory management. This role ensures exceptional customer experience while promoting local agricultural products, maintaining product quality and presentation, and optimizing sales performance. The manager also collaborates with farm production staff to align supply with demand.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee the daily opening and closing procedures of the farmstand. </li><li>Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal of displays. </li><li>Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and local retail regulations </li><li>Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers. </li><li>Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally. </li><li>Promote farm products and seasonal offerings to increase sales. </li><li>Train, schedule, and supervise seasonal and permanent staff. </li><li>Foster a positive and efficient work environment. </li><li>Ensure all staff are trained in safety, product knowledge, and cash handling procedures. </li><li>Coordinate with farm staff on produce availability and delivery schedules. </li><li>Monitor inventory levels and rotate stock to reduce waste. </li><li>Create engaging displays to highlight seasonal and high-margin items </li><li>Operate and oversee point-of-sale systems and daily cash reconciliation. </li><li>Track daily sales and identify trends or opportunities for improvement. </li><li>Prepare regular sales and expense reports for management review. </li><li>Plan and execute promotions, tastings, or events to draw in customers. </li><li>Manage social media or signage to advertise offerings and hours. </li><li>Build relationships with local customers, vendors, and community partners </li><li>Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned by leadership </li></ul> <p>Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Various outdoor weather conditions and temperatures </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>As needed based on the farming season </li></ul> <p>Experience/Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Drivers License </li><li>Preferred: Two (2) years of farmstand, retail, customer service or POS experience </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies to all associates; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift </li><li>Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 50-65lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature environments; </li><li>Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis </li><li>Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines </li><li>Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality </li><li>Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives </li></ul> <p>Other details</p> <ul> <li>Pay Type Hourly </li></ul> <p>Apply Now</p> <ul> <li>1583 Marion Rd, Cheshire, CT 06410, USA </li></ul>
