<p>ABOUT THE JOB</p> <p>We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to building high-quality, scalable applications. This role is ideal for engineers with a solid foundation in both front-end and back-end development who are eager to learn, collaborate, and grow in a dynamic environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop new features, optimize performance, and ensure seamless integration across the tech stack.</p> <p>This is an onsite role based in our Seattle, WA location</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Build and ship product as part of one of our core engineering teams, contributing where you can have the most impact </li><li>Take end-to-end ownership of features, from design and implementation through deployment and monitoring </li><li>Practice test-driven development and pair programming as part of your everyday workflow </li><li>Deploy and operate services on Google Cloud and Kubernetes, contributing to reliability, performance, and observability </li><li>Collaborate closely with hardware, data, and product teams to integrate RFID pipelines into production systems </li><li>Write clean, well-tested code in Java and/or Python </li><li>Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint planning </li><li>Help shape the engineering culture and practices of a fast-growing, mission-driven startup </li></ul> <p>ABOUT YOU</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience </li><li>2+ years of professional software engineering experience </li><li>Proficiency in Java and/or Python </li><li>Understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes) </li><li>Ability to interview onsite at one of our offices (Seattle, Sunnyvale, or San Diego) </li><li>Ability to work onsite 4 days per week at one of our office locations </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with test-driven development or pair programming in a professional setting </li><li>Experience working in Linux-based environments </li><li>Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud </li><li>Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments </li><li>Experience with Google Cloud Platform services (GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, etc.) </li><li>Background in IoT, embedded systems, or hardware-adjacent software </li><li>Familiarity with RFID or real-time data pipelines </li><li>Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup </li><li>Comfort working across areas of a codebase outside your primary background </li><li>Strong opinions about system design, paired with a genuine openness to other perspectives </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU'LL DO</p> <p>In your first 30 days, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Learn Radar's mission, technology stack and core values. </li><li>Complete onboarding and security compliance training. </li><li>Shipped code into production used by 100,000+ customers </li><li>Fixed or contributed to at least 3 defects or features across at least one functional area </li><li>Paired with at least 2 Staff+ engineers </li><li>Begun absorbing the RADAR culture and ways of working </li></ul> <p>In your first 60 days, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Averaging 1.5 defects fixed and properly tested per week </li><li>Consistently in the office 4 days a week </li><li>Aligned to a functional area and going deeper </li><li>Established one or two key pairing relationships with teammates </li><li>Attending on-call meetings and getting familiar with our operations </li><li>Demonstrating high caliber code and testing quality consistently </li></ul> <p>In your first 90 days, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Settled into a functional area and contributing consistently </li><li>Averaging closer to 2 defects resolved and tested per week </li><li>Officially part of the on-call rotation </li></ul> <p>At RADAR, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The expected base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience and relevant education or training.You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, life and disability benefits, 401k plan, flexible time off, and paid parental leave.
