<p>Job Summary: Responsible for providing quality neurodiagnostic testing care to patients under the direction of a physician. May engage in all departmental activities to provide safe and effective delivery of patient care utilizing parameters guided by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ASET). Department activities include but are not limited to performing electroencephalogram (EEG); evoked potentials (EP); assisting physicians with nerve conduction studies (NCS); scheduling patients; limited electrocardiography (EKG); transcribing/typing, faxing, scanning, linking and filing reports.</p> <p>Service and Quality Standards:</p> <p>Service</p> <p>Is Customer focused</p> <p>Anticipates customer needs</p> <p>Adheres to customer service standards</p> <p>Is Competent, caring and compassionate</p> <p>Treats coworkers and customers with dignity and respect</p> <p>Demonstrates competent, caring and compassionate behavior</p> <p>to customers and coworkers</p> <p>People</p> <p>Is conversation conscious</p> <p>Assures confidentiality of patient and employee information</p> <p>Is positive in interactions with others</p> <p>Is courteous and respectful</p> <p>Promotes a harassment free environment</p> <p>Inspires the trust of others</p> <p>Acts in accordance with hospital policies, meets the requirements of the Code of Conduct, and identifies any conflicts of interest.</p> <p>Quality</p> <p>Is excellent in patient care and service</p> <p>Demonstrates multidisciplinary cooperation</p> <p>Assists in obtaining excellent satisfaction scores of feedback</p> <p>Is safety conscious</p> <p>Demonstrates safety consciousness and supports safety initatives</p> <p>Is involved with improvement efforts</p> <p>Supports performance improvement</p> <p>Seeks ways to improve systems and services</p> <p>Shows commitment to improvement efforts</p> <p>Meets mandatory educational requirements</p> <p>Growth</p> <p>Is a loyal ambassador</p> <p>Demonstrates commitment to hospital mission and vision</p> <p>Is active and involved</p> <p>Supports hospital initiatives</p> <p>Champions innovation and supports change</p> <p>Is a positive role model</p> <p>Fosters team cooperation</p> <p>Finance</p> <p>Is a good steward of hospital resources</p> <p>Develops/uses efficient work methods</p> <p>Is cost effective</p> <p>Conserves organizational resources</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Performing electroencephalogram (EEG); evoked potentials (EP)</p> </li><li> <p>Assisting physicians with nerve conduction studies (NCS).</p> </li><li> <p>Collects, reviews, & summarizes neurological patient information</p> </li><li> <p>Completes documentation and provides limited electrocardiography (EKG).</p> </li><li> <p>Transcribing/typing, faxing, scanning, linking and filing reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with departmental Objectives, PI, and maintenance of Procedure Manual.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education Requirements and Other Requirements:</p> <p>Education Level: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred.</p> <p>Certification/Licensure: Registered by American Board of Registration of EEG and EP Technologists (ABRET) preferred.</p> <p>Experience Requirements: Experience in a technical health care field, training and experience in Neurodiagnostics, and/or Polysomnography (including the 10-20 system) preferred.</p> <p>Completion of a CAHEA Accredited education program in Neurodiagnostics preferred.</p> <p>Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment).</p> <p>Typing skills and general computer knowledge required</p> <p>Working Conditions :. Extensive standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting of medium to heavy weights in the laboratory and at the bedside. Exposure to cleaning agents when cleaning electrodes after patient testing.</p> <p>Exposure Category: Category II - Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks. The normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues; however, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate protective measures are always available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks.</p>
