<p>Job Title: Quality Control Scientist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Quality Control Scientist will support an in-house Quality Control team responsible for release, characterization, and stability testing of internally manufactured materials. This role involves performing molecular biology and biochemical assays, including DNA and RNA pipetting, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing, and related sample preparation. The position also requires conducting high-running assays such as endo- and exonuclease testing and gDNA contamination analysis. Additional responsibilities include solution and buffer preparation, fragment analyzer and HPLC testing using Chromeleon software, and maintaining reagent, consumables, and method-specific inventory to support subject matter experts and QC scientists. The individual will assist with daily laboratory setup, follow established SOPs and written procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and complete all required GMP documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform molecular biology and biochemical assays involving DNA and RNA. </li><li>Conduct pipetting, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, sequencing, and related sample preparation. </li><li>Execute endo- and exonuclease testing and gDNA contamination analysis. </li><li>Prepare solutions and buffers, and conduct fragment analyzer and HPLC testing using Chromeleon software. </li><li>Maintain reagent, consumables, and method-specific inventory. </li><li>Assist with daily laboratory setup and follow established SOPs and written procedures. </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and complete all required GMP documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Basic molecular biology laboratory skills such as pipetting, PCR, and gel electrophoresis. </li><li>Experience with DNA or RNA sample preparation, sequencing, and qPCR. </li><li>Ability to perform biochemical and molecular biology assays to support release, characterization, and stability testing. </li><li>Ability to follow written procedures and maintain careful documentation following GMP standards. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline. </li><li>1-4 years of hands-on laboratory experience in a QC, analytical, or regulated laboratory environment working with DNA and RNA sequencing and sample preparation, as well as pipetting, PCR, and gel electrophoresis. </li><li>1-4 years of experience with GMP. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The role operates within a laboratory and office environment, alongside small team of biochemists.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
