With a focus on person-centered approaches and community integration, we strive to create a fulfilling and an enriching experience for those we serve.</p> <p>Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities?</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our Nursing Department. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and managing resident medical records in compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations. You'll support the use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, assist with medical supply inventory, and provide clerical and administrative support to the nursing team and physicians.</p> <p>Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.</p> <p>Heinzerling Community is a Substance Free Workplace and does not accommodate the use of drugs or medical marijuana.</p> <p>Pay Rate and Hours:</p> <p>8:30am - 5:00pm</p> <p>Starting at $19.75</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate and complete health records (electronic and paper) </li><li>Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory guidelines </li><li>Assist with internal audits and external inspections </li><li>Manage admissions, discharges, and medical record updates </li><li>Support nursing documentation and prepare related reports </li><li>Help coordinate medical and nursing supply inventory </li><li>Perform general clerical duties, including minute-taking and document preparation </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred </li><li>Certification as RHIA or RHIT (preferred) </li><li>Experience with EHR systems and medical terminology (preferred) </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) </li><li>Strong attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive starting pay rates </li><li>Paid training - we hire new grads! </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement </li><li>Retirement plan with awesome 50% company match. </li><li>Medical, Dental, Vision on the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment for Full Time. </li><li>Start earning Paid Time Off on your first day. </li></ul> <p>To get a better idea of the work environment, check out the Welcome to Heinzerling video on YouTube.</p>
