<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION TITLE: Dean for the School of Business, Industry, and Career Programs</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Academic Affairs</p> <p>PRIMARY LOCATION: Any Bristol Campus Location</p> <p>POSITION STATUS: Exempt</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Vice President for Academic Affairs</p> <p>SALARY: $121,493.02 - $127,643.61 - Commensurate with Experience and Education (NUP-M5)</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Dean for the School of Business, Industry, and Career provides strategic, operational, and academic leadership for a broad portfolio of programs including Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Culinary Arts, and other career and technical education (CTE) fields. The Dean is responsible for ensuring that all programs are aligned with evolving workforce needs, regional economic development priorities, and institutional goals for student access, retention, and success.</p> <p>The Dean fosters innovation in career-connected learning, promotes industry partnerships, and leads initiatives to integrate work-based learning, digital credentials, and applied learning across academic programs. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can bridge academic rigor with workforce relevance and position the School as a hub for economic mobility and lifelong learning.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Academic Leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Provide vision and direction for academic programs in business, industry, and career pathways.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead curriculum development and revision to ensure alignment with industry standards, certifications, and transfer pathways.</p> </li><li> <p>Support development of non-credit to credit pathways, micro-credentials, apprenticeships, and stackable credential frameworks.</p> </li><li> <p>Champion high-impact practices such as internships, work-based learning, service learning, and cooperative education.</p> </li><li> <p>Personnel Management</p> </li><li> <p>Recruit, support, evaluate, and retain qualified faculty and staff across academic and technical disciplines.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote faculty development in pedagogy, industry engagement, and the integration of technology and experiential learning.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with accreditation and licensure requirements for technical and professional programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Policy Development & Compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with Massachusetts state policies, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) guidelines, and accreditation standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor legislative changes related to MassEducate, MassReconnect, and other state initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop policies and procedures to streamline enrollment, placement, and credit transfer for students.</p> </li><li> <p>Industry and Community Partnerships</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with employers, unions, workforce boards, and community-based organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Economic and Workforce Development offices to identify regional training needs and respond to grant-funded opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as an institutional representative on program workforce boards, local and regional workforce, economic development, and educational boards or consortia.</p> </li><li> <p>Student Success and Retention</p> </li><li> <p>Lead initiatives that increase access to CTE programs and support underrepresented students in high-demand fields</p> </li><li> <p>Promote strategies for career readiness, including industry credentialing, digital badges, and e-portfolios.</p> </li><li> <p>Foster inclusive and supportive learning environments that reflect the diverse communities served by the college.</p> </li><li> <p>Data Management & Reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Lead data collection and analysis to track student participation, retention, completion rates, and postsecondary enrollment outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide regular reports to institutional leadership and external stakeholders to assess program impact and areas for improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Use labor market data and skills-mapping tools such as Lightcast or O*NET to align programs with high-demand careers.</p> </li><li> <p>Planning, Budget, and Assessment</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and manage the School's budget in alignment with institutional priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Support enrollment planning and course scheduling to ensure program availability and efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead program review, learning outcomes assessment, and continuous improvement efforts.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage School budgets, equipment purchases, facilities planning, and capital needs in alignment with institutional priorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Support program review, outcomes assessment, and continuous improvement efforts for all academic departments in the School.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize data to inform enrollment planning, course scheduling, and strategic program investments.</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree). </li><li>Minimum of 4 years of experience in higher education administration, workforce development, or industry-related fields. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in managing CTE, business, or applied technical programs. </li><li>Proven commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and the workplace. </li><li>Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. </li><li>Proven experience in developing and scaling educational programs at a community college or higher education institution. </li><li>Experience with curriculum development, program assessment, and faculty development. </li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate in a discipline represented within the School or in Educational Leadership or Administration </li><li>Experience at a community college or open-access institution. </li><li>Experience with community college CTE programs, Perkins funding or Department of Labor grants. </li><li>Knowledge of innovative pedagogical practices, including online, hybrid, and competency-based education. </li><li>Familiarity with collective bargaining environments. </li><li>Experience
