<p>The professional will assist the EBNN DCOO with implementing a laboratory infrastructure improvement plan. To return unused or unnecessary EBNN laboratory and/or technical space to the Site Planning and Infrastructure Management Division the space must be free of hazardous materials, de-posted, and be acceptable for an Exit Readiness Review.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with work planning and control to review work areas for hazards (i.e., such as material handling (moving equipment), assembly/disassembly of equipment, chemical and radiological material disposal, handling of lead bricks, and excessing and recycling materials. </li><li>Prepare hazardous waste control forms to ensure the safe disposal of hazardous waste, legacy equipment, and other materials. </li><li>Prepare EMRs, identify barcoded property and ensure that it is properly accounted for and notify the responsible Property Custodian for removal or transfer of equipment that is found. </li><li>Write Work Orders as needed to remove legacy items from EBNN Areas. </li><li>Following BNL processes, properly dispose of research material and equipment (glass containers, tools, instrumentation, computers, carts, gas cylinders, lecture bottles, etc.) are removed from the specified areas. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Six (6) years prior relevant mechanical & electrical experience with large, complex machinery. </li><li>Ability to read and carry out instructions from a manual. </li><li>Good mechanical skills: the ability to work with basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools. </li><li>Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Effective time management skills. </li><li>Basic computer skills and experience with using Microsoft Of?ce products. </li><li>Ability to drive a Kubota </li><li>Demonstrated ability to independently perform duties. </li><li></li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with BNL's Property Management System </li><li>Familiarity with BNLs Chemical Management System </li><li>Familiarity with BNL's Hazardous Waste Management System </li><li>Familiarity with BNL's Work Planning and Control Process </li><li>Familiarity with BNL's Work Order Process and the trades </li><li>Individual will be required to have a valid NYS Driver's license (Real ID) </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <p>This position is temporary, Part-Time 16 hrs/week - any two weekdays between 10/6/25and 9/30/26</p>
