<p>Job Title: Civil Engineer EIT</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role offers an excellent opportunity for a Civil Engineer EIT to contribute to a variety of land development projects by performing site grading, stormwater management, and site plan design using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D. You will prepare design calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates while collaborating closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects. The position provides strong professional growth potential, including the opportunity to work under a licensed Professional Engineer, gain hours toward licensure, and progress into project management and client-facing responsibilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Use MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop site grading plans, stormwater management designs, and detailed site plans for land development projects. </li><li>Prepare design calculations to support civil design elements, including grading, drainage, and stormwater systems. </li><li>Develop quantity take-offs and assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for civil engineering components of projects. </li><li>Support land development and site development projects for residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial clients. </li><li>Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and team members on multi-disciplinary projects to ensure cohesive and integrated designs. </li><li>Assist with civil design tasks related to stormwater management, site layout, and infrastructure improvements. </li><li>Contribute to both private and public sector projects, including potential work on transportation and infrastructure projects such as state department of transportation assignments. </li><li>Work under the guidance and supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer to develop technical skills and gain experience toward professional licensure. </li><li>Participate in project coordination, with the opportunity to grow into managing projects, interacting directly with clients, and mentoring junior staff over time. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering. </li><li>Approximately 2 or more years of land development experience. </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation for civil design and drafting. </li><li>Experience with land development, civil design, and site development projects. </li><li>Ability to perform site grading design and prepare grading plans. </li><li>Knowledge of stormwater management design and related calculations. </li><li>Ability to prepare design calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates. </li><li>Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. </li><li>Eligibility to work under a Professional Engineer and progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PE license or active progress on the PE licensure track preferred. </li><li>Experience working on residential, municipal, commercial, or industrial land development projects. </li><li>Familiarity with both private and public sector project environments. </li><li>Interest in gaining exposure to transportation or public infrastructure projects, including state department of transportation work. </li><li>Desire to grow into a project management role with responsibilities for client interaction, team coordination, and mentoring others. </li><li>Strong interest in continuous learning and professional growth within civil engineering and land development. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>You will work in a professional office environment five days per week, collaborating closely with civil engineers and land development professionals in a multi-company building shared with other engineering and consulting firms. The team supports a diverse mix of private sector clients, including residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial developments, and also participates in public sector work, providing exposure to a wide range of project types. You will work directly under a licensed Professional Engineer, allowing you to accrue experience hours toward PE licensure and benefit from mentorship. Standard office attire is expected in this collaborative, learning-focused environment.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Rosemont, IL.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $87000.00/yr.</p> <p>BCBS, PPO Dental, Aetna PAID TIME OFF (PTO) (Accrual begins on the first day of employment) FLEX BENEFITS Payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis to pay to dependent care, dental, eye and other expenses not covered by medical insurance.
