<p>Title: Senior Associate General Counsel - Healthcare</p> <p>Department Org: Office Of Legal Affairs - 104890</p> <p>Employee Classification: J1 - Salaried Full Time HSC</p> <p>Bargaining Unit: Professional Staff Association</p> <p>Primary Location: HSC S</p> <p>Shift: 1</p> <p>Posted Salary: $155,581; Salary will commensurate with experience</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>This position provides expert legal advice to the University on general health care matters, primarily to The University of Toledo Medical Center; clinics and major affiliates; and the Health Science Colleges of the University for issues regarding hospital operations, medical staff members, students and faculty of the Health Science Colleges, research, and graduate medical education residents. This position also provides administrative direction to the Clinical Risk Manager with an overall goal to protect the financial assets of the University. The job duties include, but are not limited to, providing advice on transactional and contractual arrangements including provider insurance and employee health agreements and drafting and revising University bylaws, policies, and procedures.</p> <p>The position maintains the professional qualifications for appointment as Assistant Attorney General of the state of Ohio; provides general legal counsel and advice as set forth by law and in accord with the professional standards established by the Ohio Attorney General, and in accord with the Ohio Code of Professional Conduct and Responsibilities.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/experience/licensing:</p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctorate Degree from an ABA accredited law school. </li><li>Knowledge of healthcare law, especially compliance and regulatory issues. </li><li>Knowledge of risk and insurance principles and of the Ohio Revised Code, as it applies to state institutions. </li><li>License to practice law in Ohio and in good standing with the Ohio Supreme Court, or ability to become licensed within one year of date of </li></ul> <p>hire.</p> <ul> <li>At least seven (7) years of experience in the areas described above. </li><li>Experience working as legal counsel for a hospital either as in-house or as outside counsel. </li><li>Maintain appointment as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Ohio. </li></ul> <p>Communication and other skills:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Conflict resolution skills and a deep commitment to customer service. </li><li>Strong academic background </li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Skill in use of computers and related software applications </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent analytical, oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Conflict resolution skills and a deep commitment to customer service. </li><li>Strong academic background </li><li>Accuracy and attention to detail </li><li>Skill in use of computers and related software applications </li></ul> <p>Conditions of Employment:</p> <p>To promote the highest levels of health and well-being, the University of Toledo campuses are tobacco-free.
