<p>The Supervisor of Collections oversees and manages a team of collections agents responsible for recovering outstanding debts from customers or vendors, and ensures that collections processes are efficient, compliant with regulations, and meet company goals.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The Supervisor of Collections must have very good communication skills, strong Excel skills, excellent organizational skills, a dedication to accuracy and attention to detail. The essential duties of this role include but are not limited to coaching and mentoring the collections staff in their duties:</p> <ul> <li>Running and sorting Excel AR reports for collection purposes. </li><li>Communicating with customers via email and phone to collect open balances. </li><li>Averaging over 50 contacts daily. </li><li>Updating notes in a database for collection purposes. </li><li>Reconciling variances. </li><li>Holding weekly AR meetings. </li><li>Maintaining organized records for customer files. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or 5 years of relevant experience. </li><li>5 years of general accounting, accounts receivable and collection experience. </li><li>Familiarity with Epicor and Microsoft preferred. </li><li>A high sense of urgency to get the job done. </li><li>An understanding of basic accounting principles. </li><li>Experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry is a plus. </li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>This position supervises a team of 10 to 15 collections staff. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS - the physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
