<p>We are seeking individuals to assist us with event coordination and logistics. </p> <p>If you have a background in customer service and/or event facilitation, please apply!</p> <p>Work schedules are flexible and include evening hours.</p> <p>Employees receive a FREE Recreation Center pass.</p> <p>Varied schedule based on program needs. Shifts may be scheduled during the following hours:</p> <p>Monday-Thursday: between 6:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.</p> <p>Friday: between 4:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.</p> <p>Saturday-Sunday: between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m.</p> <p>In this role, the incumbent will serve as the visible point of contact for private events and during our regular operating hours. Primary responsibilities include performing a variety of tasks related to the City and County's Recreation Services function and providing information and assistance to City and County staff and the public. </p> <p>This is NOT a seasonal position; candidates must be available on a year-round basis.</p> <p>Salary Range: $18.22 -$24.64/hour</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervises opening and closing of Recreation/Senior Center and other facilities as scheduled.</p> </li><li> <p>May Organize, schedule and supervise activities, personnel, volunteers, and maintenance of facilities including weight rooms, Gymnasium, and cardio, studios and reservation rooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for ensuring proper set-up and take-down of necessary equipment needed for programs or functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides security for recreation centers and grounds. </p> </li><li> <p>Enforces all rules and regulations of programs and facilities; ensures that the facility is safe for use. </p> </li><li> <p>Ensures all scheduled staff are present to perform assigned duties.</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of specific program area.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to assist in recruitment and training of temporary and/or part time employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform certain administrative duties within each program/special events/clinics, including scheduling, training, evaluating,supervising and instructing in a variety of facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists in organizing and implementing programming for specific areas of recreation.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises participants/staff during programs by enforcing program and building policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Models appropriate behavior, and communicates openly and effectively.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for safety of self, staff, participants, equipment and facilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports incidents to Supervisor, submits appropriate completed forms within 24 hours.</p> </li><li> <p>Complies with City and County policies, procedures and standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates a personal computer and accompanying software programs. Operates a motor vehicle for travel between facilities. </p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and recommends improvements in divisional and departmental operations to ensure functions are efficient and cost effective. </p> </li><li> <p>Takes proper safety precautions, anticipates unsafe circumstances, and acts accordingly to prevent accidents. </p> </li><li> <p>Assists in the daily/weekly cleaning, maintenance, and safety inspections</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for set-up and takedown of necessary equipment needed for programs or functions</p> </li></ul> <p>Training, Experience, and Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>High school graduate or GED equivalent. Some college-level education in recreation, physical education, or education preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess valid AED, First Aid and CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.</p> </li><li> <p>6 months experience in Recreation Programming in the specific program area.</p> </li></ul> <p>Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.</p> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: </p> <p>New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be 18 years of age.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a First Aid/CPR certification within 30 days of hire, and maintained for continued employment.</p> </li><li> <p>If this position is required to drive a CCOB vehicle a DMV check will be required.</p> </li><li> <p>Physical demands are described as medium (exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects). </p> </li><li> <p>Work is scheduled for a variety of hours to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. </p> </li><li> <p>Must provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the participant during instruction which includes a full range of physical abilities including: performing and maintaining aerobic exercise, bending, stretching, and lifting minimal weight.</p> </li><li> <p>Working in the Recreation Division may require indoor and outdoor activities.</p> </li><li> <p>Required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Required to hear; stand; bend or twist from the upper body; use hands and/or feet to perform manual tasks such as spotting; reach with hands and arms; squat; and climb or balance.</p> </li><li> <p>Visual abilities including close, distant, depth, peripheral are required.</p> </li><li> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> </li></ul>
