Category Manufacturing Description</p> <p>SUMMARY</p> <p>A Manufacturing Engineer at KMC Controls plans, directs, and coordinates the day-to day operations of manufacturing processes on the production floor by performing the following duties.</p> <p>A Manufacturing Engineer at KMC Controls plans, directs, and coordinates the day-to day operations of manufacturing processes on the production floor by performing the following duties.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Works with the ERP system to generate bills of materials, routings, work instructions, and other product related documentation. </li><li>Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. </li><li>Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. </li><li>Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. </li><li>Designs new fixtures and works with the tool room to get them made. </li><li>Implements and carryout Engineering Change Orders </li><li>Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. </li><li>Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs equipment and layout of equipment in workspace for maximum efficiency. </li><li>Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. </li><li>Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. </li><li>Uses a voltmeter and related test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuits. </li><li>Understands basic Lean Manufacturing principles. </li><li>Supports product quality by performing root cause analysis and corrective actions. </li><li>Writes manufacturing tests and quality audit procedures. </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <p>Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <ul> <li>Must have experience with all aspects of electronic circuit board assembly processes. </li><li>Must have experience with plastic injection and rubber molding. </li><li>Must be able to use calipers and micrometers. </li><li>Must be able to read directional prints. </li><li>Must have knowledge of pneumatic logic. </li><li>Must understands basic Lean Manufacturing principles. </li><li>Experience with HVAC controls and sensors is preferred. </li></ul> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Able to work and interact with people in various departments and roles. </li><li>Able to read, analyze and interpret job-related periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. </li><li>Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Able to read understand basic electronic circuitry, read basic schematics, and understand component symbols (resistors, diodes, capacitors, etc.) </li><li>Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees. </li></ul> <p>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</p> <p>Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and prop01tions to practical situations.</p> <p>REASONING ABILITY</p> <p>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
