<p>Grade 3 TEACHER POSITION</p> <p>Beavercreek City Schools is seeking a Grade 3 Teachers at Valley Elementary School.</p> <p>Certification/Licensure: All applicants must possess a valid Ohio Certificate/License in the appropriate areas.</p> <p>All applicants must possess or be eligible for a valid Ohio educator license or certificate for the appropriate grade level and content area(s) of instruction.</p> <p>Third Grade Reading Guarantee Information and Requirement</p> <p>Beavercreek City Schools requires all Grade 3 teachers to meet one of the following qualifications related to Ohio's 3rd Grade Reading Guarantee:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Has a K-12 reading endorsement on the teacher's license;</p> </li><li> <p>Completed a master's degree with a major in reading or literacy;</p> </li><li> <p>Rated "most effective" for reading instruction consecutively for the most recent two years based on state-approved tests of student growth;</p> </li><li> <p>Rated "above expected value-added" in reading instruction consecutively for the most recent two school years;</p> </li><li> <p>Earned a passing score on a rigorous test of principles of scientifically research-based reading instruction (The only test that satisfies this qualification is the Praxis 5203.);</p> </li><li> <p>Educators issued licenses in early childhood (preK-3), middle childhood (4-9) education, or K-12 Intervention Specialists (Early Childhood, Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, or Gifted) on or after July 1, 2017; or</p> </li><li> <p>Holds a license issued by the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology under Chapter 4753 of the Ohio Revised Code and a professional pupil services license as a school speech-pathologist issued by the State Board of Education.</p> </li></ul> <p>First-Year Teachers: A teacher who does not have at least one year of teaching experience may serve as the teacher of record as long as the teacher holds one of these qualifications and is assigned a mentor who meets the qualifications. A first-year teacher's Resident Educator mentor may serve in this role as long as he or she meets the teacher qualifications above.</p> <p>Science of Reading Information</p> <p>Beavercreek City Schools is committed to meeting the requirements of the State of Ohio as outlined in Ohio Revised Code 3313.6028 requiring districts to use the science of reading for literacy instruction. "Science of Reading" is defined in the law as an interdisciplinary body of scientific evidence that informs how students learn to read and write proficiently. Any employees new to the district will be guided on what professional development to complete based on your teaching assignment and a timeline for completion.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ohio's Introduction to SOR Course Pathways</p> </li><li> <p>The starting salary from the approved teacher salary schedule ranges from:</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree: $46,552 to $70,936 based on prior teacher verification, experience, and training</p> </li><li> <p>Master's Degree: $52,571 to 85,963 based on prior teacher verification, experience and training.</p> </li><li> <p>Included in the contract is a competitive benefits package which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave.</p> </li><li> <p>Contract details: 184 days; August 12, 2025 - First day</p> </li></ul>
