Join our committed team and help shape the future we envision.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Position Highlights:</p> <ul> <li>The selected candidate will contribute to a state-of-the-art Biorepository resource based at the Moffitt Cancer Center and facilitate oncology research at Moffitt. </li><li>Attends in-house courses, seminars, and workshops related to core activities and cancer biology. </li><li>The Tissue Core provides a rewarding work environment that supports Moffitt's research mission and cutting-edge investigator driven science. </li></ul> <p>The Ideal Candidate:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in working in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Ability to precisely follow established workflows and SOPs with preferred experience in general laboratory techniques </li><li>Must be able to perform with minimal supervision with guidance from senior staff </li><li>Proficient use of Microsoft applications is necessary </li><li>Good organizational skills </li><li>Attention to detail </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>The Research Specialist I will be responsible for </li><li>Learning and performing routine specimen processing from various biologic specimen types </li><li>Utilizing the Tissue Core's Laboratory Information Management System for project intake, specimen labeling, processing and/or handling and tracking </li><li>Documentation and inventory management in inventory system application </li></ul> <p>Credentials and Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma/GED required, Associate's or bachelor's degree in biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology or related scientific field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>A minimum of two years in a science related field with High School Diploma.</p> </li><li> <p>One year of laboratory experience with AA/AS degree.</p> </li><li> <p>No experience required with BS/BA degree.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Core specific licensure and/or certifications required</p> </li><li> <p>Annual Human Subjects Training, i.e. CITI is required</p> </li></ul> <p>Moffitt Team Members are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Time Off, Retirement, Parental Leave and more.
