We thrive on innovation, making an impact, and fostering an environment where staff and faculty are key contributors to UC's success.</p> <p>Job Overview</p> <p>Handle day-to-day post-award financial administration of specialized activities related to grant administration. Provide reports, recommendations and advice to management and other groups on post-award processes. Conduct and carry out financial procedures and administrative activities in accordance with local, state, federal and university regulations and program requirements. Analyze and interpret government contracts , sponsor Guidelines, MOUs/amendments, UC financial policies, and other contract related documents.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assist faculty, research staff, and/or students with the processing of financial transactions for federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and any other external funding sources. </li><li>Post-award duties include award set up and management for financial and regulatory compliance, meeting regularly with Principal Investigators (PIs) for expense reporting and projects, and processing reports and transactions, including subcontract activity for the full lifecycle of sponsored program administration. Assist with pre-award proposal preparation. </li><li>Implement policies that reflect continuous oversight and review of sponsored project funds to ensure that all financial transactions are in compliance with university policies and funding agency guidelines. </li><li>Advise faculty and research staff with the financial management of sponsored projects to fulfill project-related expenditure goals and objectives, sub-award issuance. </li><li>Work directly and collaboratively with the various offices of the university to fulfill all expenditure/compliance requirements and resolve complex issues that arise through the duration of a sponsored award. </li><li>Assist faculty, research staff, and/or students with the proposal creation, preparation and submission process to external agencies. </li><li>Assist with dissemination of expertise to train entry-level staff in the department unit to adhere to standards of compliance with sponsored project requirements and dissemination of knowledge of UC-based financial systems and applications to achieve financial and Human Resource objectives </li><li>Breadth of duties may span several sub-specialties and may be either unit-specific, typically handling proposal submission and award administration, or more broadly defined encompassing the ability to help grow the research enterprise at UC. </li><li>Complete routine work for grant applications; follow standard principles and systems and use appropriate terminology associated with a particular field of specialization by continuously building on current job knowledge. </li><li>Provide recommended approaches to assigned work to facilitate achievement of desired results and maintain effective relationships with peers, vendors, and others in different environments. </li><li>Interpret information, ideas and instructions and communicate clearly and accurately both verbally and in writing including materials intended for distribution. </li><li>Determine causes of unusual occurrences and apply standard principles and practices to determine and implement solutions. </li><li>Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. </li></ul> <p>Required Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two (2) years of grant and/or finance-related experience. </li><li>Knowledge of Uniform Guidance. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications Considered</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Financial Systems such as Catalyst, SAP, & CONCUR </li><li>Experience with proposal systems, such as or comparable to Kuali, Cayuse, Coeus, etc </li><li>Experience with research grants and contracts. </li><li>Experience working in Higher Education. </li></ul> <p>Application Process Information</p> <p>Cover letter and resume.</p> <p>Physical Requirements/Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands. </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <p>UC offers an exceptional benefits package designed to support your well-being, financial security, and work-life balance.
