<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Apply knowledge of best practices in teaching special education students to meet content area and academic support needs of students with mild/modertate disabilities.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts DESE special education certification and licensure required </li><li>Massachusetts DESE 8-12 Math certification and licensure required </li><li>Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement required </li><li>Co-teaching experience preferred </li><li>Knowledge and expertise using formal and informal assessments required </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleague, parents/guardians, and others in the delivery of effective services </li><li>Superior organizational, written and verbal communication skills </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Co-teach or provide small group subject matter insturction </li><li>Complete formal and informal assessments as part of the regulatory process </li><li>Monitor student mastery of IEP goals and objectives using various assessments and data collection tools </li><li>utilize data to inform the development of academic and social emotional goals </li><li>Provide individualized and small group support and instruction across content areas to target IEP goals and objectives </li><li>Collaborate with general education teacher to adapt curricular materials in order to meet the individual needs of students </li><li>Meet all timelines in the IEP process, including but not limited to participating in IEP meetings, developing IEPs and progress reports, completing evaluations and reevaluations. </li></ul> <p>The Public Schools of Brookline is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute through their teaching or practice to the diversity and excellence of the PSB community.</p> <p>The Public Schools of Brookline is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
