Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$66,000.00 - $101,325.00</p> <p>Overview Plans, coordinates, and carries out a range of student services programs for prospective and University students in areas such as admissions, registration, placement, financial aid, and/or career counseling. Reporting to the YDS's Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, the Registrar will be the primary contact for student records, curriculum support, degree progress, academic deadlines, statistics, and curriculum-related activities at the school. This position will monitor student progress and records to ensure compliance with academic regulations and program requirements. The Registrar is responsible for tracking and meeting critical University, Graduate School, and YDS School deadlines. The Registrar is a point of contact and resource for both faculty and students. Directs services supporting degree programs including joint degree students - enrollment management, registration, creation of courses, advisor assignments, issuing/providing degree and enrollment verifications, issuing transcripts, maintaining student records, monitoring degrees and diplomas. Oversee the ongoing evolution, implementation and maintenance of integrated student record systems and technological resources in all student and course data service areas. Lead in the development and enhancement of processes. Maintain and update web-based and printed materials on academic policies, program and graduation requirements. Update the YDS School Bulletin, which contains policies, procedures, and degree requirements. Advise students and faculty on academic policies, degree requirements, and procedures. Help faculty in interpreting and applying academic policy. Use discretion and judgment in granting exceptions to policies. Recommend modifications to academic policies to senior leadership. Manage course registration process, including setup, schedule approval, room assignments of courses and sections. Collaborate with faculty to ensure courses are created in an accurate and timely manner. Work independently to troubleshoot matters regarding course data services. Counsel students on registration and other academic support requests. Ensure communication with students regarding program requirements. Develop and implement strategies to improve communication and ensure success. Write and distribute communications to students regarding deadlines and other relevant academic policies. Oversee student records and conduct degree audits for all graduating students to ensure compliance with degree requirements. Work with Yale Health and University offices to monitor registration holds and alert students, faculty, and key staff to ensure compliance with university and YDS policies. Propose academic calendar and determine teaching and final exam schedule. Oversee the receipt and timely processing of grades. Administer teaching fellowships and course evaluation programs and provide access to evaluations for appropriate members of senior leadership. Compile statistical data and synthesize and analyze for reports. Distribute standardized reports to Dean and senior leadership at scheduled intervals and customized reports upon request. Develop strategies that draw upon emerging technologies to respond to changing needs. Anticipate needs that will optimize student success and improve records retention. Serve as the liaison to the University Registrar to ensure compliance with functions, policies and procedures. Participate in University-wide network of graduate and professional school registrars to keep abreast of policies and best practices. Represent Divinity at professional conferences to keep abreast of national standards and best practices. Serve as School Certifying Official for the US Veteran's Administration. Assure institutional compliance with relevant federal law. Provide the files necessary for program assessment by faculty working groups. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrated expertise working with student and academic records, including student records privacy (FERPA) policy and procedures. 2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a complex academic environment. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on customer service to students, faculty and staff. Ability to use diplomacy and tact, and to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. 3. High level of computer proficiency. Proven record of learning new systems and technologies to improve systems to better serve constituents. Excellent analytical, organizational, and data management skills. Accuracy and precise attention to detail. 4. Demonstrated ability to compile, interpret and disseminate data and statistics with an ability to adapt to change and adjust workflow to meet organizational and project goals. Excellent organizational skills to meet deadlines, timely response to student and faculty requests, and meet requirements of the position. 5. Expert knowledge of complex academic policies and procedures such as curriculum, registration, enrollment, classrooms, grading, assessment, or scheduling. Familiarity with issues that influence higher education and/or the profession. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and five years of proven experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A commitment to the mission of the school is required and an understanding of theological education preferred. Proven experience in an academic institution, with knowledge of academic procedures and student and course management systems.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Plans, coordinates and implements programs for a particular school or college in one or more of the following areas: financial aid, career services, and/or admissions. 2. Recommends short- and long-term administrative and department goals. 3. Determines student eligibility in one or more of the following areas: federal loan programs, school grants, job placement opportunities, and/or admissions. 4. Provides guidance, advice and counseling in one or more of the following areas: academic, admissions, career, and financial matters for students, faculty and prospective students. 5. Initiates, designs and implements operational systems to maintain and monitors student records and/or applicant records. 6. Reviews and approves all written material for publication or press release. 7. Organizes workshops and on and off campus recruitment events in one or more of the following areas: career services, admissions, and/or financial aid. 8. Supervises day to day operation of services; determines priorities and maintain workflow. 9. May perform other duties as assigned.
