Unique in higher education, this is a role that is simultaneously at the heart of our academic community, and at the heart of our fundraising efforts, with the ability to influence both.</p> <p>Through strategic philanthropy, the Director, Academic Advancement for the College of Engineering bridges the strategic goals of the College with the passions of our donors. In this role, you will generate and present compelling proposals, seeking financial support from our donors for the College of Engineering, in partnership with Development colleagues. You will also be the trusted philanthropic advisor to the Dean of the College of Engineering. You will work closely with the Dean to engage academic and administrative partners in the College, develop strategic plans and the related funding priorities, steward current donors, and effectively engage donors through the Advisory Council program.</p> <p>The single most important role of the Academic Advancement Director is to educate fundraisers as to the fundraising priorities of the College. The individual will be expected to meet annual collaborative production goals as developed with the Senior Director.</p> <p>PRIMARY CONSTITUENTS SERVED:</p> <p>The role reports to the Senior, Academic Advancement within Development, and in pursuit of funding for the College of Engineering, will proactively serve four primary constituents:</p> <ul> <li>The Dean, faculty, and staff of the College of Engineering </li><li>ND Development fundraisers </li><li>University donors & benefactors </li><li>Leadership and other staff of the Department of Development </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</p> <p>In collaboration with fundraisers, the Academic Advancement Director will:</p> <ul> <li>Proactively educate fundraisers on the College of Engineering fundraising opportunities. </li><li>Assist in creating donor facing fundraising proposals centered on the College of Engineering priorities. </li><li>Advance proposals from inception to conclusion. </li><li>Develop a trusted advisor relationship with the Dean of the College of Engineering and confirm funding needs. </li><li>Develop trusted relationships with fundraisers. </li></ul> <p>KEY ACTIVITIES & GOALS:</p> <ul> <li>With Development fundraisers, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward fundraising prospects with capacity and inclination to make leadership level gifts. </li><li>Develop messaging, packaging, and engagement content related to the College of Engineering priorities, especially for opportunities to collaborate with fundraisers to identify existing and potential future donors to College funding priorities and sponsors of College specific and interdisciplinary research opportunities. </li><li>Advance within the College of Engineering a culture of philanthropy and awareness of Development's expectations, policies, processes, and procedures through formal and informal engagement of the Dean, faculty, and staff of the College. </li><li>Together with peer Academic Advancement Directors and the Campaign Administration team, identify, develop, confirm, and articulate messaging, packaging, and engagement around major initiatives that are understood and promotable by fundraisers. </li><li>Develop a vision for the College of Engineering that is consistent with the mission of Notre Dame in collaboration with the Dean, faculty, and staff of the College of Engineering, and other stakeholders that is understandable and promotable by fundraisers, resonating with non-academic external constituents of the University. </li><li>Administer the College of Engineering Advisory Council as a fundraising vehicle, and execute on a rolling basis an annual calendar of engagement activities relevant to promoting College of Engineering priorities to fundraisers and donors. </li><li>Develop and execute a plan to ensure effective stewardship and compliance of donors to the College of Engineering, and respond promptly and effectively to donor relations issues as and when they emerge. </li></ul> <p>We welcome and encourage those with diverse backgrounds and experiences whose talents elevate our work and foster an inclusive experience for everyone who cares for Notre Dame.
