Our promise is to continue delivering the same award-winning service and exceptional value that our community has come to rely on over the years.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Diesel Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles within the dealership's service department. This role ensures customer satisfaction by providing high-quality repairs, maintaining manufacturer standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, suspension systems, brakes, and electrical components on light-, medium-, or heavy-duty vehicles. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance and inspections in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines. </li><li>Utilize factory diagnostic tools, equipment, and software to accurately identify issues and complete repairs. </li><li>Complete repair orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. </li><li>Communicate with service advisors regarding required repairs, additional work, and estimated completion times. </li><li>Document all work performed in compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements. </li><li>Participate in manufacturer training programs and maintain up-to-date certifications. </li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace. </li><li>Assist other technicians and support teamwork across the service department. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in diesel technology preferred. </li><li>2+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician (dealership experience strongly preferred). </li><li>Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and repair protocols (e.g., Cummins INSITE, Ford IDS, GM GDS2, etc.). </li><li>Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics. </li><li>Valid driver's license; CDL or state inspection license a plus. </li><li>ASE or OEM certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain). </li></ul> <p>Skills & Attributes</p> <ul> <li>Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality </li><li>Dependable and able to work independently </li><li>Effective communication and teamwork skills </li><li>Commitment to customer satisfaction and dealership professionalism </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Dealership service department setting with access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment.</p> <p>May require standing for long periods, lifting heavy components, and occasional overtime or weekend shifts.</p>
