The successful performance of these job duties has a significant impact on the timeliness and quality of customer shipments. Enhancing efficiency in transportation-related activities contributes to the overall corporate cost-saving initiative.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <ul> <li>Performs the daily processing of all international shipping documents to ensure timely shipments to all destinations. </li><li>Suggests areas for cost savings and process improvements related to transportation, packaging, and supply chain operations. </li><li>Works with contract and third-party transportation service providers to ensure punctual delivery performance. </li><li>Coordinate the deliveries of material from outside warehouses to be consolidated with freight from this facility. </li><li>Follows the terms included in Letters of Credit to ensure timely banking and processing of these orders. The ability to follow detailed instructions for export is essential. </li><li>Takes assigned training to stay in compliance with all transportation and hazardous materials regulations. </li></ul> <p>Keys to Success:</p> <p>To succeed in this role, candidates must be capable of fulfilling every key job responsibility effectively. Accommodations can be arranged for individuals with disabilities.</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>A High School Diploma or GED is required. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>1+ years of experience in freight forwarding or transportation-related business operations is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to quickly prioritize daily work activities to ensure key shipping requirements are aligned and accomplished. </li><li>Must be able to communicate transportation requirements to freight providers and with the customer support organization through both verbal and written communication. </li><li>Build good working relationships with transportation suppliers and external departments such as Distribution Center Warehouse Operations, Accounting/Finance, Transportation Suppliers, Customer Service, and Field Service. </li><li>Requires good oral and written presentation skills to communicate ideas and procedures to management and peers. </li><li>Proficiency in Word, Excel, SAP, and Oracle E1 applications is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>The physical demands described here represent the typical physical requirements of an employee in this role.
