We celebrate diversity and inclusion, seeking educators who bring fresh ideas and value collaboration in shaping a welcoming, forward-thinking environment.</p> <p>For this Accounting Faculty position, we're looking for an educator who is passionate about teaching - whether on-site, online, or in a hybrid format - and who brings real-world accounting experience to life for students. The ideal candidate communicates complex concepts clearly, embraces innovation and technology, and contributes to the department's supportive culture. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups, to join us in creating an inclusive and inspiring place to learn and grow.</p> <ul> <li> <p></p> </li><li>Develop innovative methods for teaching accounting and business-related courses such as Principles of Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Computerized Accounting and Principles of Business. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Expected to teach in all and any combination of modalities - On Site, Online and Hybrid, with emphasis on site.</p> </li><li> <p>The faculty member will utilize active learning methods and use a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course in a variety of modalities. Such activities can include, but are not limited to: </p> </li><li> <p>Cooperative - project based learning </p> </li><li> <p>Experiential learning - community based learning, learning community,.. </p> </li><li> <p>Technology-enhanced learning </p> </li><li> <p>Critical thinking initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in curriculum development and continuous improvement to meet current industry standards and credential requirements. They will remain abreast of ongoing developments and practices in their professional content area(s).</p> </li><li> <p>Integrate computer technology and relevant accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, data analytics tools and artificial intelligence) into coursework, as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide student advising on academic, career, and transfer opportunities aligned with Business Department pathways. </p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with colleagues within the department, across divisions, and through College Governance Committees and task forces. </p> </li><li> <p>Contribute to program assessment, general education outcomes assessment and student learning outcomes initiatives. </p> </li><li> <p>Work with the department to build community, internship, and university transfer partnerships. </p> </li><li> <p>Engage in enrollment, retention, and outreach activities in alignment with the department's mission. </p> </li><li> <p>Pursue grant opportunities and other sustainability projects </p> </li><li> <p>Actively participates in department, division and professional staff meetings as well as other components of college governance.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in college programs and activities including holding office hours to support student success.</p> </li><li> <p>The faculty members will be supportive of students' learning goals by: a.) Focusing on student learning outcomes b.) Taking into account the needs and abilities of the students c.) Becoming familiar with academic and social support while making reasonable provisions to accommodate individual differences.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain academic integrity, foster inclusive learning environments, and promote HCC's mission and values.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or a closely related field. </li><li>Certified Public Accountant or other relevant professional certification. </li><li>Experience designing and teaching engaging courses, including online, hybrid, or in-person formats. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to apply inclusive, student-centered teaching practices and varied pedagogical strategies. </li><li>Ability to integrate technology into instruction, including QuickBooks and other accounting and business applications. </li><li>Willingness to teach across multiple modalities (on-campus, hybrid, and online). </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Commitment to the mission of the community college. </li><li>Demonstrated success teaching and mentoring a diverse student population. </li></ul> <p>Equivalency Statement:</p> <p>We welcome and encourage applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above, to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them for the responsibilities of this position. It is preferred that this document be uploaded separately from the resume, cover letter, and references. </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Post-Master's credits or doctoral degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. </li><li>Certified Public Accountant or other relevant professional certification. </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in community college teaching and online course delivery. </li><li>Experience teaching introductory and advanced accounting courses. </li><li>Experience using advanced accounting software and data analytics tools. </li><li>Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary instruction within the Business Department. </li><li>Experience fostering partnerships with community organizations or local businesses. </li></ul> <p>Full-Time, Tenure-Track MCCC/MTA Position:</p> <p>Salary: Minimum $57,013.00 - $65,725.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
