Today, Wall is uniquely positioned to serve the most exacting industrial and scientific requirements of the worldwide marketplace.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the activities of employees involved in manufacturing operations. Key responsibilities include training and supervising staff, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and enforcing company policies and procedures. This role also involves monitoring departmental performance, reporting on key metrics, and working to achieve production goals as established by the management team. The supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement.</p> <p>IDEAL EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing operation or supervisory role. </li><li>Strong proficiency in computer applications, including ERP systems (Epicor/Vantage experience is a plus) and Microsoft Office. </li><li>Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members across various departments. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey critical information for operational success. </li><li>Adaptability to sudden operational changes and challenges. </li><li>Experience working in a capacity-constrained manufacturing environment. </li><li>Previous experience in a unionized workplace is preferred. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <p>LEADERSHIP:</p> <ul> <li>Align actions with company vision. </li><li>Conduct reflects dependability, honesty, availability, and professionalism with constantly changing priorities. </li><li>Behavior exemplifies the company Code of Conduct policy, setting an example for employees. </li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of employee motivations, challenges, and emotions allowing for the ability to connect authentically. </li><li>Communicate clearly, listen actively, and ensure employees understand goals and expectations. </li><li>Accepts accountability for decisions and outcomes. </li><li>Capable of managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines. </li><li>Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. </li></ul> <p>UTILIZATION OF RESOURCES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to effectively direct and manage labor, material and equipment to meet daily production targets. </li><li>Strong understanding of manufacturing workflow, equipment operation and material flow. </li><li>Drive process improvements to reduce downtime and increase productivity. </li></ul> <p>ACCOUNTABILITIES</p> <p>The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.</p> <p>Productivity</p> <ul> <li>Utilization and absenteeism </li><li>Efficiency </li></ul> <p>Plan deviations</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Model ethical and professional behavior as specified in the company Code of Conduct. </li><li>Set clear expectations for employees that are aligned with Management's business goals. </li><li>Maintain a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the workday. </li><li>Hold yourself and employees accountable. </li></ul> <p>Production</p> <ul> <li>Execute production plans, resolve any circumstances that may affect the plan, and report any plan deviations to the planning department. </li><li>Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of equipment and facilities; take corrective action to resolve deficiencies. </li><li>Support cost reduction, Lean Programs (ex. 5S, Kaizen, SMED) and continuous improvement efforts </li><li>Evaluate employee timecards for accuracy and approve for payroll on a weekly basis. </li><li>Maintain operational knowledge of manufacturing equipment. </li><li>Resolve production-related issues with representatives from other departments throughout the company. </li><li>Perform required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence, including assigned KPI reporting and development of manufacturing work instructions. </li><li>Participate in safety programs and all required safety training for employees and coordinate tracking with HR. </li><li>Perform other duties assigned by manager. </li></ul> <p>Talent Development</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for providing feedback to employees on performance through informal (day-to-day interaction) and formal methods (yearly written appraisal, documented disciplinary action). </li><li>Provide and document training of employees as specified by the company training system. </li><li>Use various coaching methods to support employee development and foster a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement. </li><li>Develop and implement policies and procedures for personnel issues including but not limited to rewards, disciplinary action, daily and weekly overtime, hiring and training. </li><li>Identify deficiencies in attaining department goals and provide explain corrective actions for gaps. </li><li>Under supervision of the Operations Manager, assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures for personnel issues including but not limited to rewards, disciplinary action, daily and weekly overtime, hiring and training. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>2-4 years manufacturing/supervisory experience </li><li>Conflict resolution skills </li><li>Intermediate math skills </li><li>Knowledge of Microsoft applications </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarizations with ISO 9001:2015 </li><li>Previous experience in a union shop </li><li>Knowledge of metal and/or tube drawing, and firearm products </li></ul>
