<p>Position Summary: The food service driver and inventory coordinator is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of food and supplies to all district schools while maintaining accurate inventory and transfer records. This role ensures that storage areas are organized, food safety standards are upheld, and district-wide distribution runs smoothly.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Inventory and Record Keeping</p> <ul> <li>Assists with receiving, counts, and verifies deliveries against invoices. </li><li>Examines stock for quality and accuracy. </li><li>Maintains and updates the transfer sheet for tracking all inter-school deliveries and inventory movement. </li><li>Organizes, labels, and rotates stock (FIFO) in storerooms, walk-ins, freezers, and refrigerators. </li><li>Assists with monthly and year-end physical inventories. </li><li>Maintains accurate records of all deliveries, returns, and receipts. </li></ul> <p>Distribution and Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Efficiently loads and organizes the delivery vehicle while maintaining food safety standards. </li><li>Delivers food and supplies to school sites daily. </li><li>Ensure proper handling and temperature control of perishable items. </li><li>Collects and delivers school cash deposits as assigned and maintains necessary banking supplies. </li></ul> <p>Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance</p> <ul> <li>Conducts daily vehicle safety inspections (tires, lights, brakes, etc.). </li><li>Reports abnormalities to the Director of School Nutrition. </li><li>Keeps vehicle fueled, clean, and properly stocked with delivery supplies. </li></ul> <p>Sanitation and Safety</p> <ul> <li>Cleans and maintains storerooms, refrigerators, freezers, and related work areas. </li><li>Follows all food safety and sanitation protocols for storage and transportation. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a safe driving record (CDL not required). </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time without direct supervision. </li><li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and use proper lifting techniques. </li><li>Ability to work in cold environments (freezers/refrigerators) for extended periods. </li><li>Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff and students. </li><li>Any additional tasks as assigned by the Director of School Nutrition. </li></ul> <p>Supervision Received: Works under the general supervision of the Director of School Nutrition and Assistant Director of School Nutrition</p> <p>Schedule: School year +1 day</p>
