<p>The Opportunity</p> <p>WSP is currently initiating a search for a Part-Time Rail Operations Technical Advisor to join our Transit and Rail Team for projects located in Connecticut and surrounding areas. This position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team who provide oversight and guidance to CTDOT for their CTRail project but not limited to. Your role could include involvement through all stages of New Starts and Rail Compliance, while working closely with project and technical managers. This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with professional experts within a leading global consulting company.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Support Project managers and internal stakeholders in planning and executing projects, including guidance in project setup, project implementation, and closing as per WSP's Project Delivery procedures. </li><li>Keep track of project deliverables and provide a timely escalation of project issues including client concerns and feedback as required. </li><li>Coordinate document delivery, updates, filing, and implement other control systems. </li><li>Visible support resource for knowledge of WSP systems and protocols. </li><li>Provide technical document reviews, proofreading for accuracy, completeness, compliance with corporate policies, formatting adherence, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling. </li><li>Guiding new start work plans, health and safety plans, and reports for CTDOT agency and clients. </li><li>Prepare project progress reports and status updates. </li><li>Review of technical specification documents. </li><li>Investigate rail system issues as requested by the client. </li><li>Assume role in assisting in new pursuits. </li><li>Perform billable work and other tasks assigned as best fits training and ability. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of 20-25 years' experience in a rail and transit-related field, preferably working for a consultancy, manufacturer, or agency. </li><li>Detailed knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements for rail operations, especially as they relate to new rail start-ups or line extensions. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree. </li><li>Leadership ability with demonstrated project management experience in rail vehicles or material inspection fields. </li><li>Knowledge of and experience with rail fleet technologies. </li><li>Experience testing and commissioning rail vehicles, coaches, rail cars and work cars. </li><li>Ability to coordinate multiple activities in a logical and orderly manner. </li><li>Effective communication and writing skills. </li><li>The ability to work in a disciplined manner with little supervision </li><li>Extensive knowledge of FRA and FTA requirements. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree is preferred. </li><li>Essential professional licensure/certification. </li></ul> <p>#LI-AC1</p>
