<p>The Assistant Director of the Donelan Office supports the programming of the Donelan Office within the J.D. Power Center for Liberal Arts in the World. In conjunction with Donelan Office staff, the Assistant Director develops and maintains community partnerships, manages community-based learning placements, assists with facilitating the Non-Profit Careers Conference, supervises the CBL Interns, advises Marshall Memorial Fund applicants, and collaborates with other on-campus community engagement programs including SPUD and community service work-study.</p> <p>Major Areas of Responsibility</p> <ul> <li> <p>With the Director of the Donelan Office, coordinate CBL placement options for CBL placement-based courses including visits to CBL classes and a CBL orientation at the beginning of each semester</p> </li><li> <p>Selection and leadership of CBL Interns</p> </li><li> <p>With J.D. Power Center and Donelan Office colleagues, develop and implement student programming around reflection, vocational discernment, leadership development for all J.D. Power Center students, including Power Talks, CBL Reflections, Non-Profit Careers Conference, possible retreats or reflection days at the Contemplative Center; focus on Ignatian spirituality where possible in these opportunities.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in managing community partner communications (with input from the Director of the Donelan Office and in collaboration with Associate Director)</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct site visits of community partners for placement-based partners</p> </li><li> <p>Advise CBL placement-based students in selecting community partners</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other community engagement programs including SPUD and community service work-study</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with the Assistant Director of the J.D. Power Center on Communications (Social Media, Newsletter); consult Associate Director and Director to update website, social media campaigns, Ignite, and community outreach at HC and in Worcester</p> </li><li> <p>Offer advising support to students applying for Marshall and Ignite Funds</p> </li><li> <p>Support the Assistant Director of the J.D. Power Center with transportation logistics for placement-based students</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Director with assessment for placement-based courses and CBL Intern Program</p> </li></ul> <p>Other duties as assigned; must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends</p> <p>Reports to the Director of the Donelan Office of Community-Based Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree</p> </li><li> <p>1-2 years of professional experience in service learning, community engagement, community partnerships, and/or a relevant field</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of and commitment to the mission of Jesuit higher education and the role of community-based learning and engaged scholarship in contributing to that mission</p> </li><li> <p>Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>An ability to remain organized and follow through with details while balancing multiple projects</p> </li><li> <p>Sound judgment and problem-solving skills</p> </li><li> <p>A sense of curiosity and interest in learning about a wide variety of academic disciplines and social service agencies</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding and valuing diversity while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment</p> </li><li> <p>Competence with Microsoft Office and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sites); a willingness to learn other software and technology as needed</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional information:</p> <p>This is a full time exempt level position.
