Provides direct patient care to surgical patients. The Surgical APP will assist the physician/surgeon in the global management of patient care in all perioperative care and office settings. Primary role is to assist licensed physicians/surgeons in patient surgery and daVinci robotic surgical cases. The Surgical APP will handle routine problems related to the surgical patient in the perioperative setting. He/she will be the 1st assistant in surgery and will be expected to perform first assist duties and maintain surgical skills. He/she will be responsible in assisting the surgeon with providing post-operative care including writing orders, communicating the care plan with family, and discharge planning. He/she will be expected to perform all aspects of patient care in the office setting, as determined by the supervising surgeon. Minimum qualifications: PA-C or APRN license to practice in the State of Rhode Island, credentialed by the SCH Medical Staff and experience with daVinci surgical robot.</p>
