<p>About your role</p> <p>We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven VP of Business Development & Partnerships to join our Innovative Medicines team. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will play a key role in the company's short- and long-term growth strategy including BD&L. This role requires a hands-on approach to shape the future of Innovative Medicines at Orion. The successful VP will bring a proven track record in establishing the business development strategy that aligns to company's long-term growth plans, identifying and triaging potential partners, negotiating and closing of impactful deals, and understanding of what it takes to execute on partnership commitments.</p> <p>This is a hybrid role with office locations in New York City and Boston.</p> <p>Your key responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead Business Development & Partnerships team, including Alliance Management, Search & Evaluation, and bolster BD infrastructure </li><li>Drive discussions with potential / current BD&L partners; develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, research institutions, and industry partners </li><li>Identification / sourcing of in-licensing, out-licensing and M&A opportunities by means including, but not limited to, remaining abreast of market trends and dynamics, scientific conference attendance, and partnering conference attendance </li><li>Conduct commercial and scientific assessment of in-licensing and M&A opportunities </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of business development initiatives </li><li>Build models to support deal negotiations </li><li>Play key role in deal / contract negotiations; management of virtual data room </li></ul> <p>Functional Expertise:</p> <ul> <li>Search Evaluation Selection: Utilize strategic thinking, business intelligence, and analytical skills to identify and select new opportunities </li><li>Identification of New Opportunities: Employ analytical thinking and networking to identify potential growth areas </li><li>Business Negotiation: Apply strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage partnerships effectively </li><li>Full Evaluation / Due Diligence: Lead due diligence teams with scientific, technical, regulatory, and IP knowledge </li><li>Operative Planning: Demonstrate project management skills and team leadership </li><li>Contracting: Leverage legal knowledge and negotiation skills </li><li>Project Kick-Off: Exhibit excellent communication skills and leadership </li></ul> <p>What we offer</p> <p>At Orion, your work creates true impact and well-being for our customers, patients and society at large.
