<p>Description</p> <p>We're making health happen in North Minneapolis. Join us as a Pharmacy Technician and you can be part of this vibrant community. You'll assist with the daily operations and customer service of the pharmacy, as directed by the pharmacists and allowed by law. Our pharmacy fills prescriptions ordered only through NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center providers. For more information visit employee referral program.</p> <p>Find us here at upcoming career fairs!</p> <p>Location and hours:</p> <p>This position will be located at the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411. Work hours are negotiable but will be weekdays, sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and rotating Saturdays every three weeks from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This position will also require working 1 to 2 evening shifts per week until 7:30 p.m. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.</p> <p>About the position type:</p> <p>This is a full-time, benefit earning position.</p> <p>This position is internally classified as a Pharmacy Technician.</p> <p>Click here to view the job classification specification.</p> <p>In this position, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Perform activities related to the preparation and dispensing of drugs and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients under the supervision of pharmacists. </li><li>Distribute medications or documents to patients and resolve customer pharmacy-related issues at pharmacy point-of-sale windows. </li><li>Assist with distribution of stock medications, over-the-counter products, and other supplies to clinic staff. </li><li>Comply with all applicable federal, Hennepin County, and NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center policies, procedures, and patient care standards. </li><li>Develop technical knowledge and competency of products/services provided by the pharmacy in order to provide information and assist patients and clinic staff. </li><li>Participate in trainings, educational and professional programs, and/or review professional literature on an ongoing basis to maintain pharmacy knowledge, competency, and certification. </li></ul> <p>Need to have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>One of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>Graduation from a pharmacy technician training program.</p> </li><li> <p>One year or more of experience in a pharmacy technology or health care related position.</p> </li><li> <p>A valid pharmacy technician registration in the state of Minnesota.</p> </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience:</p> </li><li> <p>In data management in a pharmacy environment.</p> </li><li> <p>With pharmacy related computer software.</p> </li><li> <p>Working with patients and medical staff in a multidisciplinary setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to:</p> </li><li> <p>Consult with medical staff in a multidisciplinary setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Make decisions within the confines of pharmacy rules and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Inter-relate in a multi-cultural environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of computer data entry, operation systems, and pharmacy rules and regulations related to the role of the registered Pharmacy Technician.</p> </li></ul> <p>About the department:</p> <p>NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center sets a standard of excellence in providing culturally responsive, integrated, holistic primary health and social services that strengthens our community and the lives of the people we serve.
