<p>This district-level administrative position within the North Adams Public Schools provides educational leadership and prepares students for college and career readiness and post-secondary goals through the directorship of the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century after-school and summer program at each school site. This position coordinates grant funding and budgets, personnel, student and family outreach, data collection and analysis, program design and evaluation, and collaboration with community agencies.</p> <p>Supervision:Reports to the Assistant Superintendent.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities: 1.Prepares and administers budgets for the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century after school and summer program. 2.Applies for grant funding and provides grant reporting. 3.Solicits and coordinates additional funding for programming in support of students. 4.Plans, develops, implements, and monitors systems for Northern Berkshire Adult Education programming and 21st Century programming. 5.Oversees the HiSET testing center at the North Adams Armory including managing the schedule, overseeing proctors, and adhering to testing policies and procedures. 6.Hires and supervises staff for Northern Berkshire Adult Education and 21st Century programming. 7.Collaborates with teachers, support staff, school leaders, and district leaders to ensure alignment of programming to school and district needs including curriculum, instruction, and assessment priorities. 8.Collects and analyzes student-level and programmatic data for the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and 21st Century program. 9.Collaborates with local, regional, and state agencies in the service of meeting student and program needs. 10.Identify and follow state and local policies, regulations, and requirements for Northern Berkshire Adult Education programming and 21st Century programming. 11.Conduct regular community outreach and attend community events to promote the programming and to understand resources needed to support families and students. 12.Evaluates effectiveness of Northern Berkshire Adult Education programming and 21st Century programming and engages in a continuous improvement process with school and district leaders. 13.Prepare for and support program review procedures and host site visits. 14.Attend relevant training and professional development in support of Northern Berkshire Adult Education programming and 21st Century programming. 15.For Northern Berkshire Adult Education programming, ensure students' progression to post-secondary education, job training, and employment by connecting students and families with appropriate agencies. 16.Design and implement professional development for staff in the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century program. 17.Provides day-to-day supervision of the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century program. 18.Participates in district level collaboration structures including but not limited to the District Safety Management Team and the District Leadership Team. 19.Work with program staff to oversee and as necessary conduct timely pre and post student assessments. Ensure staff certification for administering MAPT/BEST +, TABE and TABE-E tests, conduct pre/post assessments to selected classes. 20.Orient staff toward and coordinate information dissemination regarding HISET and GED testing and DESE initiatives and requirements. 21.Actively uses technology to support the administration of the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century program and collaborate with staff on the effective use of instructional technology. 22.Coordinate transportation to ensure equitable access to the Northern Berkshire Adult Education program and the 21st Century program. 23.Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.</p> <p>The Committee's policy of nondiscrimination will extend to students, staff, the general public, and individuals with whom it does business; No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town or in obtaining the advantages, privileges, and courses of study of such public school on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.</p>
