The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> <ul> <li>Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan. </li><li>Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. </li><li>Collaborate with receiving programs, district staff, and families to monitor student progress, support compliance with bilingual/ESL requirements, and ensure services align with district expectations. </li><li>Serves as a liaison to strengthen communication, continuity of services, and culturally responsive support for English learners placed outside the district. </li><li>Supports continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. </li><li>Promotes culturally responsive and equitable instructional practices. </li><li>Manages instructional tools, resources, and aligned curriculum implementation. </li><li>Facilitates staff collaboration, problem-solving, feedback, and professional development. </li><li>Provides guidance on assessment practices and effective data use. </li><li>Supports and monitors screening, identification, and ACCESS testing processes for English learners to ensure compliance and accuracy. </li><li>Ensures bilingual and English as a second language (ESL) services meet program requirements and compliance standards. </li><li>Conducts classroom observations, models effective instructional strategies, and builds staff capacity through job-embedded learning. </li><li>Participates in curriculum review, instructional material selection, and program improvement with leadership. </li><li>Communicates key updates and maintains ongoing communication with staff, leadership, and families. </li><li>Engages families through outreach, meetings, and informational sessions. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Professional Educator License (PEL) with ESL endorsement required</p> <p>Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred</p> <p>Experience in bilingual (TBE/TPI) programs preferred</p> <p>Special Education experience preferred</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement. </li><li>Ability to model effective instructional strategies </li><li>Must maintain knowledge of ESL compliance standards </li><li>Ability to professionally advocate for students </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with district and building level staff. </li></ul> <p>A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance </li><li>Voluntary life insurance </li><li>Paid Sick and Personal time </li><li>Paid holidays </li><li>Paid vacation </li><li>Membership in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) or Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) </li><li>Optional 403(b) plan </li><li>Employee assistance program (EAP) </li></ul> <p>LENGTH OF WORK: 12 months</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel.
