<p>Position Title: Network Engineer III - LAN/Wireless (Tier 3 Support)</p> <p>Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid - Onsite 4 days/week + 50%+ Travel)</p> <p>Clearance Requirements: Eligible to obtain Public Trust (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; U.S. residency required for past 5 years)</p> <p>Position Status: Contract</p> <p>Pay Rate: $30/HR ON W2</p> <p>Position Description</p> <p>We are seeking a senior-level Network Engineer to support enterprise LAN and wireless infrastructure initiatives across multiple locations nationwide. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert who excels in network design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization and can work independently with minimal supervision.</p> <p>You will serve as a Tier 3 escalation point and technical leader supporting complex networking environments, collaborating cross-functionally to deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing network solutions. This position involves extensive travel to support site surveys, installations, upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Travel nationally to conduct network surveys, installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as Tier 3 escalation support for complex LAN/WLAN incidents.</p> </li><li> <p>Design, configure, and maintain Layer 2/Layer 3 network infrastructure.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, RIP, and Static routes.</p> </li><li> <p>Configure and support switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform wireless site surveys using Ekahau or similar tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor performance metrics and optimize network reliability and throughput.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for outages and performance issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Review site infrastructure designs including fiber/copper backbone pathways.</p> </li><li> <p>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and project status reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Support scheduled upgrades, including off-hours maintenance windows.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and mitigate switch and network vulnerabilities.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Skills/Education</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).</p> </li><li> <p>8+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in network engineering/support.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong expertise in LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, routing, switching, and network architecture.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience designing and deploying networks in large-scale enterprise environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Hands-on experience with Cisco and multi-vendor network technologies.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with wireless platforms such as Cisco Meraki, Aruba, Juniper Mist, or Fortinet.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency reading logs (syslog, packet capture, security logs, OS/app logs).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with site acceptance testing and infrastructure assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently in fast-paced, evolving environments.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with Ekahau Sidekick or comparable wireless survey tools.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of network security best practices and vulnerability remediation.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supporting large facility deployments or multi-site enterprise networks.</p> </li></ul> <p>About Seneca Resources</p> <p>At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
