<p>Posting Number S382P Working Title Upward Bound Summer Academy Educational Assistant FLSA Pay Grade Advertised Salary Position Status Casual (450 hours) Appointment Length Other Department TRIO Student Support Services Job Summary/Basic Function</p> <p>The Summer Educational Assistant will help UB staff provide support to the instructors in the following subject areas: Literature/Writing, Math, Science, Spanish, and Wellness. Responsibilities include: Assist instructors with lesson preparation and classroom setup Supporting lab activities and hands-on learning applications Providing small group and individual academic support to students Monitoring student engagement and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and interactive learning environment Assisting with attendance tracking, data collection, and basic grading support Supporting classroom management and reinforcing program expectations Assist with creating and implementing activities geared to enhance student engagementCollaborating with Upward Bound staff to ensure program goals and objectives are met Assist with program logistics, materials organization, and daily classroom needs Assist with evaluating program's effectiveness and providing feedback for improvement. Assist the Director and Academic Coordinator with day-to-day program activities. Deliver and setup materials in various locations across campus.</p> <p>The Upward Bound Summer Academy will begin Monday, June 8, 2026, and conclude Friday, July 17, 2026. Work hours will be Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00pm This position requires a general Associate's degree or Associate's degree in education is required; must have experience working with low-income and/or potential first-generation college students and students from various background. Skills and abilities - Excellent interpersonal and verbal skills; positive written communication skills; proficiency in computer applications, ability to work independently and accurately; and the ability to maintain confidentiality.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A general Associate's degree in or an Associate's degree in education is required; must have experience working with low-income and/or potential first-generation college students and students of a diverse background.
