In addition, hired applicants will be eligible for the company's annual variable incentive paid based on company's performance. Additional commission opportunities may apply to customer facing sales and service representatives.</p> <p>This role can be performed remotely from anywhere within the United States.</p> <p>This role does not currently offer employment visa sponsorship.</p> <p>This posting is anticipated to be closed on June 28th, 2025.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Our Lincoln, RI office is seeking an IT Developer/Software Engineer who will perform technical design, development, testing and implementation of complex IT solutions using existing and emerging technologies that include expertise in multiple application areas, including Guidewire's PolicyCenter application. This position is open to midlevel through senior levels of experience. Entry-level candidates are not eligible.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver software that meets established standards as well as expectations for performance, business impact, and user experience. </li><li>Track and report issues. Address patterns and root causes of shortfalls in technical quality and user acceptance. </li><li>Has a clear understanding of business processes and workflows and core team applications and specializations. </li><li>Understand and apply Agile development best practices, and other approaches for iterative development of production-ready software. </li><li>Focus on test-driven development practices and leverage continuous integration and delivery standards and best practices. </li><li>Follow policies for secure code development and engage in secure coding practices. </li><li>Share knowledge to ensure individuals and teams have the appropriate breadth and depth to offer support to the business, projects, and day to day operations. This may include mentoring, providing effective guidance and/or feedback. </li><li>Serve as an internal champion of change initiatives undertaken by the organization. </li><li>Actively seek out opportunities to learn and apply emerging trends such as best practices and standards. </li><li>Look for challenging assignments that add value to the organization and apply learnings from those opportunities in his or her own role. </li><li>Independently learn from failures or missteps and apply learnings in various contexts. </li><li>Foster a culture that values learning and creativity both individually and as a team. </li><li>Identify continuous improvement opportunities to automate development, provisioning, and release work to accelerate and improve the quality of solutions delivery. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. </li><li>Java development experience; Solid understanding of object-oriented programming. </li><li>Solid understanding of Java frameworks, such as Spring. </li><li>Experience leveraging source code management, such as GitHub or Bitbucket. </li><li>Must attain Guidewire Associate Certification within 3 months of employment. Training to be provided. </li><li>Committed to continuous learning including but not limited to training sessions or seminars related to the assigned?role. </li><li>Ability to effectively break down and prioritize work independently. </li><li>Ability to identify challenges and risks to the completion of work and effectively communicate those to the appropriate personnel. </li><li>Capable of completing routine work independently including conducting research and using appropriate problem-solving skills, seeking assistance from others only in more unfamiliar situations. </li><li>Basic understanding of impacts of changes across teams. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively within the section, assigned project teams, and other impacted sections or project teams to provide details about planned work, completed work and next steps. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills and Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Guidewire certifications (Associate & Lead/ACE) </li><li>Experience with Guidewire Rating </li><li>Guidewire Cloud Platform experience </li><li>AWS Experience </li></ul> <p>Total Rewards:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, vision coverage, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance </li><li>Paid Vacation - you will receive at least 13 vacation days in the first 12 months, amounts could be greater depending on the role.
