<p>Role/Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>The RF Engineer shall be responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of large aperture antennas that are used for communication with satellites on orbit, which include; (a) RF ground station and test equipment, (b) satellite communication antennas, (c) RF over fiber, (d) basic radio frequency concepts. </li><li>Shall be responsible for; testing, installation, repair, and maintenance of complex RF equipment down to the component level </li><li>Shall work with vendor engineers and technicians to solve maintenance issues </li><li>The RF Engineer is responsible for identifying the causes of faults and working with on-site teams to implement preventative measures so that they do not happen again </li><li>This position encompasses all aspects of RF equipment maintenance and operations from initial planning and design to final installation and maintenance </li><li>Schedule & execute RF ground equipment PMs and synch with operations/test & development </li><li>Research and recommend new technology for testing and integration into the ground station </li><li>Survey RF vendor market for new component suppliers to diversify ground station's manufacturer reliance </li><li>Collaborate with ops/development teams to increase antenna automation to improve efficiency; focus on fault detection/mitigation and other processes to that improve antenna availability </li><li>Additional related responsibilities include the production of technical and user documentation, training and system orientation, and consultation with related development teams throughout the spacecraft life cycle </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>BS/BA + 0-2 years of experience OR equivalent </li><li>Experience in operating and maintaining antenna systems in various environments and centralized system architectures is required </li><li>Must be able to do outside work, perform lift operations up to 85 ft high, and lift 40lb </li><li>Specific experience in the design, development, and maintenance of RF equipment for satellite command and control is desired </li><li>Familiarity with software scripting is desired </li><li>Familiarity with the development and testing of software device drivers and antenna components is desired </li><li>Familiarity with general principles of satellite command and control and satellite RF for TT&C and data transmission is desired </li></ul> <p>Security Clearance</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. </li></ul>
