<p>Job Description</p> <p>Environmental/Safety Tech - Columbus, NE</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Work under the direction of the Environmental Manager to perform periodic regulatory and non-regulatory testing, inspections, audits and related functions.</p> <p>Specific Job Duties</p> <ul> <li>Conduct Leak Detection and Reporting (LDAR) VOC emission measurement and documentation per environmental permits. </li><li>Operate street sweeper truck to clean plant roads per environmental permit requirements. </li><li>Perform trouble-shooting and light routine maintenance of street sweeper or other equipment. </li><li>Conducts Hazardous Waste inspections, Universal Waste inspections, and Stormwater/SPCC inspections. </li><li>Perform recycling pick-up, and support other waste management activities as assigned. </li><li>Collect environmental samples (such as biogas, coal, or other similar samples), and prepare for shipment to outside lab. </li><li>Conduct scheduled inspections of environmental equipment, including environmental spill kits, FRP trailer, and other similar equipment. </li><li>Complete all necessary documentation to comply with all reporting agencies. </li><li>Report all findings to appropriate departments so that necessary steps can be taken to correct any deficiencies. </li><li>Be a member of the Environmental Management Systems (EMS) team. </li><li>Participates actively in training. </li><li>Familiarizes themselves with the hazards in their work area and how to protect themselves. </li><li>Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees. </li><li>Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment, and successfully completes all safety certification requirements. </li><li>Understands that accidents are preventable and that safety is everyone's responsibility. </li><li>Works in a manner that minimizes waste/cost, and supports ADM's cost-management initiatives. </li><li>Assists in keeping the department in tour ready condition </li><li>May perform reasonably similar or related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Education Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Must successfully complete all ADM Safety Certification requirements. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills.</p> <ul> <li>High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working. </li><li>Experience with SpheraCloud, Maximo (CMMS), PolicyTech or similar applications. </li><li>Excellent safety record and awareness, and previous plant experience </li><li>Demonstrates strong computer skills </li><li>Experience with documentation </li><li>Experience with procedures and equipment </li><li>Demonstrates sufficient math skills to perform calculations associated with testing </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills</p> <ul> <li>Good organizational and communication skills, and must be self-motivated </li><li>Ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision - (Required) </li><li>Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities </li><li>Willingness to alter work schedule when necessary </li><li>Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills </li><li>DOT Hazardous Materials Handling Certification, or ability to get certification within the first month in position. </li></ul> <p>Environment</p> <ul> <li>Working with potentially hazardous materials </li><li>Indoor and outdoor </li><li>Climbing stairs frequently </li><li>Lifting </li></ul> <p>Excited about this role but don't think you meet every requirement listed?
