<p>Overview</p> <p>The Program Manager's role in the grant is integral to its success. In addition to overseeing the implementation of the project's activities, the Program Manager is also responsible for ensuring the timely submission of all performance reports and that all grant activities follow Department of Education regulations. The Program Manager must be flexible, disciplined, and able to meet numerous deadlines. Ideally, the Program Manager will have experience in project and personnel management, instructional development, and coordinating work with contractors and partner organizations. The Program Manager should have knowledge of evaluation and be able to write clear and comprehensive reports related to online learning and language revitalization.</p> <ul> <li>Performing the activities/work outlined in the proposal </li><li>Exercising proper stewardship of federal funds </li><li>Complying with regulatory and programmatic requirements </li><li>Demonstrating and measuring progress toward achievement of project goals and the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) measures established for the program </li><li>Reporting all required information to the Language Revitalization Program Director </li></ul> <p>Candidate should have a degree in education, Indigenous studies, or a related field with experience in language teaching, online curriculum development, or program evaluation, as well as prior experience in program design, instructional planning, and educational technology. The Program Manager will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the online language learning project, which includes oversight of all administrative components in addition to managing contractors, coordinating instructional content development, and supporting virtual delivery and assessment. The successful candidate must have familiarity with K-5 language development and teacher training. Strong interpersonal skills are a priority. The applicant must be familiar with project management tools, digital learning platforms, databases, and reporting software. The applicant will be expected to represent the online language project at relevant community and cultural events and serve as a public-facing ambassador for the program and the institution. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Language Revitalization Program Director.</p> <p>Position Type: Full-time, Grant-Funded, 3-year term</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <p>Project Management & Coordination</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage the implementation of project activities in accordance with the grant workplan and timeline. </li><li>Coordinate a diverse team of educators, linguists, cultural advisors, curriculum designers, and multimedia contractors. </li><li>Ensure timely delivery of project milestones, learning content, and technical components. </li><li>Maintain clear and consistent communication with all team members, including remote and contract staff. </li></ul> <p>Instructional and Curriculum Development</p> <ul> <li>Support the design and development of online educational materials rooted in culturally appropriate and community-informed methodologies. </li><li>Collaborate with content experts and language speakers to ensure authenticity and accuracy. </li><li>Work with technical vendors to adapt materials for online platforms and digital delivery. </li></ul> <p>Grant Compliance & Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Track and manage program budget, expenditures, and procurement in alignment with grant requirements. </li><li>Prepare and submit accurate narrative and financial reports to funders, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines. </li><li>Maintain thorough records of project activities, expenditures, and deliverables. </li></ul> <p>Contractor and Partner Relations</p> <ul> <li>Draft scopes of work, manage contracts for multiple independent contractors. </li><li>Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, tribal organizations, academic institutions, and funders. </li><li>Facilitate regular meetings and communication with partner organizations to align goals and share progress. </li></ul> <p>Administrative and Operational Duties</p> <ul> <li>Monitor risk and troubleshoot project implementation challenges. </li><li>Ensure data collection and documentation to support evaluation efforts. </li><li>Contribute to the dissemination of project outcomes via presentations, reports, or publications. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in education, Indigenous studies, or a related field or a combination of equivalent experience and education. </li><li>Knowledge of Doyon region languages and cultures. </li><li>Demonstrated project management experience (2+ years), preferably in language revitalization, education, or nonprofit programs. </li><li>Experience managing grant-funded programs, budgets, and reporting. </li><li>Strong ability to coordinate teams and manage multiple contractors. </li><li>Familiarity with instructional design, online learning platforms, or e-learning development. </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Commitment to Indigenous language revitalization and community-centered approaches. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Speaker or learner of a Denaakk'e dialect. </li><li>Experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations. </li><li>Background in applied linguistics and acquisition. </li><li>Knowledge of online games as learning tools. </li></ul> <p>Please note: Salary for this position is determined by the grant and cannot be negotiated.</p> <p>Supervision: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Working Environment: The majority of the work may be performed either in a professional office setting or remotely from a properly equipped home office. The role involves regular interaction with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Occasional travel to village and urban locations will be required.</p> <p>Physical Demands: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds.
