<p>HS Head Unified Track Coach</p> <p>(Appendix II - 1 per school)</p> <p>CONTRACT LENGTH:</p> <p>Sport Season</p> <p>STIPEND:</p> <p>$6,440.00</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for guiding and directing students in a successful unified track program at the high school level.</p> <p>IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:</p> <p>Athletic Director</p> <p>School Principal</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities (include but may not be limited to):</p> <ul> <li>Oversees the administration of the High School's Unified Track and Field team which is composed of a proportional number of students with disabilities and students without disabilities. </li><li>Liaison regularly with the school's Athletic Director and Special Olympics to ensure quality program standards are being met and policies are being followed. </li><li>Develop and implement practice plans in which track and field event instruction is provided toall participants. There are a minimum of two practices each week. </li><li>Organize and lead all practice sessions with the recruitment and support of Assistant Coaches. </li><li>Impart the philosophy of a positive inclusive sports experience by following the principles of Unified Sports. </li><li>Plan and manage competition strategies for individuals and the team at Unified Track and field meets. </li><li>Recruit students with intellectual disabilities, students with other types of disabilities, and students without disabilities for the team. </li><li>Handle all paperwork requirements and forms required by the school district and Special Olympics. </li><li>If serving as a host site for a Unified Track and Field meet, recruit and train volunteers to manage the event. </li><li>Attend the Unified Sports Track and Field Coaches' training in your county and complete the Special Olympics Unified Sports Coaches' course. </li></ul>
