<p>Work Schedule:</p> <p>Part-time, 60% FTE, night. Shifts are scheduled as 8 or 12-hour between the hours of 7:00pm - 7:00am, weekend rotation is required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.</p> <p>Be part of something remarkable</p> <p>Bring your EMT experience to a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center and the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!</p> <p>We are seeking an Emergency Department (ED) Technician to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide compassionate care to patients as they receive treatment in the Emergency Room. </li><li>Be one of the first people a patient interacts with and assist with taking blood samples and getting IVs and catheters started. </li><li>Utilize state-of-the-art equipment. </li><li>Communicate directly with providers, nurses, patients, patient's families, and other caregivers regarding care for patients. </li><li>Record information in the Electronic Medical Record. </li><li>Respond to pages/codes and assist as directed. </li><li>Act as an observer for behavior health complaints. </li></ul> <p>Emergency Technicians at UW Health</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Completion of EMT-Basic Required </li><li>Completion of AEMT or Paramedic program Preferred </li></ul> <p>Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>Relevant experience in Emergency Departments, hospitals, or other healthcare entities to include EMS Preferred </li></ul> <p>Licenses & Certifications</p> <ul> <li>EMT - Basic license or National Registry of EMT Required </li><li>CPR/BLS certification Required </li><li>National Registry or Wisconsin Advanced Emergency Medical Technician or Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic license Preferred </li><li>ACLS and PALS certification Preferred </li></ul> <p>Our Commitment to Social Impact and Belonging</p> <p>UW Health is committed to fostering a workplace that creates belonging for everyone and is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
