Provide guidance and support in programming and development for students with self-regulation needs.</p> <p>PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Provide consultation to building student support teams and administration. </li><li>Support all students in the area of social, emotional and behavioral issues. </li><li>Maintain student files and required district paperwork as it relates to individual student needs. </li><li>Maintain data collection on support services provided to students as well as recordkeeping for restraint and seclusion. </li><li>Assist in designing and shaping behavioral interventions for both students and staff. </li><li>Provide staff development for district staff as it relates to this position. </li><li>Train staff on Minnesota requirements involving Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) </li><li>Knowledge, awareness and training of Minnesota Statutes as it relates to behavior and restrictive procedures. </li><li>Facilitate meetings that may frequently involve a range of issues for the purpose of evaluating situations, identifying appropriate actions, developing recommendations and/or implementing desired program changes. </li><li>Manage assigned programs and/or services for the purpose of achieving outcomes in relation to program objectives, and ensuring conformance with legal, financial and district requirements. </li><li>Participate in a variety of meetings as required (e.g. workshops, inter and intra district committees, community and public agencies, seminars, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out their coordination responsibilities. </li><li>Share resources and agency information with staff and families. </li><li>Act as school liaison with parent/family including home visits. </li><li>Assist with district program planning and projects for students with disabilities. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>JOB SPECIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, LICENSE, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Current Minnesota licensure in special education or related area appropriate to student level and program. </li><li>Experience working with students with challenging behaviors. </li><li>Ability to travel between sites as needed. </li><li>In depth knowledge of Minnesota State Statutes as it relates to behavior. </li><li>Competency in designing and implementing positive behavioral interventions and support. </li><li>Prompt, regular and reliable attendance. </li><li>Ability to utilize technology to support daily job functions. </li><li>Communicates with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community in a positive and responsive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships. </li><li>Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions. </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p>
